Hardware Test Engineer
(User Inputs Test Engineer)
The User Input team includes Touch & Pen, Keyboard & Touchpad, and Sensors. The Hardware Test Engineer will be responsible for testing hardware devices such as laptops and tablets in the above subsystems. We are looking to hire one highly talented and self-motivated Hardware Test Engineer to onsite MSFT - Nangang office in Taiwan.
Responsibilities:
- Execute pre-defined and documented test cases efficiently and with high quality: Follow instructions to execute manual scenarios with the devices. Perform functional, stress, system, and other types of testing
- Provide detailed bug reports with steps to reproduce and relevant logs for each issue found.
- Be able to learn how to use our SW tools and HW equipment (robot, function generator, etc.) Mount devices on various robot fixtures and execute tests through a provided GUI. Execute maintenance tasks for the robot fixtures and other hardware test stations.
- Collaborate with the team to resolve any issues found during testing.
- Provide regular written status update in the ADO tasks.
- Test private fixes and drops against known bugs.
- Generate test reports on regular cadence for test passes.
- Participate in stand-up meetings and provide regular updates on testing progress and any issues encountered.
Qualifications:
- BSEE or equivalent
- 2+ years of exp. of HW Test on Laptop (NB)/Tablet
- Hands-on functional, stress, system testing exp.
- Hands-on SW tools and HW equipment operation & maintenance (i.e. robot, function generator, etc.) Especially on robot fixtures and HW test stations.
- Be able to execute English test cases step by step on manual scenarios w/ the devices.
- Hands-on writing English bug reports w/ steps to reproduce and relevant logs for each issue found.
- Hands-on generating Englishtest reports on regular cadence for test passes.
- Demonstrated track record working w/ cross-function teams to resolve any issues found during testing.
- Ba able to participate in stand-up meetings and provide regular updates on testing progress and any issues encountered.
- Excellent written and oral communication in both English & Mandarin.
Other qualifications
- Bilingual capability is required (Mandarin & English). Mandarin speaking/reading is an essential skill in HCLTech Taiwan.
- Taiwan APRC is required w/ expat.
