Hardware Supplier Quality Engineer(Electronics) – AIsight, Taiwan (Hybrid)

About the Role

We are seeking a Junior Quality Assurance Engineer to help validate the stability, performance, and reliability of our firmware and SDK. You will work closely with embedded engineering teams to execute tests, identify issues, and help ensure product quality before release. This is a hybrid role based in Taiwan.

Job summary:

Under the direction of the Manager of Quality Assurance, the Hardware Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for managing and developing the quality performance of hardware suppliers across electronic chips, cameras, and sensor components. The role ensures that supplier processes meet ISO 9001 standards and internal quality requirements throughout the product lifecycle. Depending on business needs, this role may also support internal QMS development and continuous improvement efforts. This position is located in Taipei, Taiwan.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead supplier qualification, auditing, and ongoing quality monitoring for chip, camera, and sensor vendors
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective action (8D/CAPA) for supplier-related quality escapes
  • Define and maintain supplier quality agreements, control plans, and inspection criteria
  • Collaborate with engineering and procurement on new component selection and AVL (Approved Vendor List) management
  • Conduct supplier audits against ISO 9001 and internal QMS requirements
  • Track and report supplier KPIs (PPM, OTD, DPPM, corrective action closure rates)
  • Support NPI (New Product Introduction) by qualifying components and production processes at supplier sites
  • Work cross-functionally with hardware, embedded, and systems teams to resolve component quality issues

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years in supplier quality, component engineering, or quality assurance in electronics manufacturing
  • Strong root-cause analysis skills
  • Solid knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality management systems
  • Hands-on experience with electronic chips, imaging/camera modules, or sensor components
  • ISO 9001 lead auditor or internal auditor certification (IATF 16949 or AS9100 a plus)
  • Proficiency in 8D, FMEA, PPAP, SPC, and control plan methodologies
  • Strong communication skills for supplier-facing and cross-functional collaboration
  • Fluent in English

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with QMS or equivalent tier-1 electronics supplier quality systems
  • Familiarity with SDLC and hardware-software integration testing environments
  • Knowledge of IPC standards for PCB and component inspection

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of supplier quality management processes and quality systems (e.g., ISO 9001)
  • Familiarity with electronic components such as chips, cameras, and sensor modules
  • Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies (e.g., 8D, FMEA, PPAP, SPC, root cause analysis)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret quality data and drive improvements
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and international teams
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills when working with external suppliers
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills
