Job Description

About Us

Nable is an early-stage nanotechnology company based in Neihu, Taipei. We develop nanobubble generator systems that enhance how gases dissolve into water. Backed by strategic investors and industry experts, we are improving efficiency across industries that depend on water quality and gas transfer.

The Role

We are looking for a Hardware Design Engineer to lead the mechanical design and development of our nanobubble generator hardware — an industrial system with fluid, gas, electrical, and mechanical subsystems housed in outdoor-rated enclosures. You'll own the design from prototype through to production-ready hardware, working directly with the founders on system-level decisions.

Responsibilities

Mechanical Design & Simulation

  • Lead system-level mechanical design in SolidWorks: frame/structure, enclosure, component mounting, cable/hose routing, and access panels
  • Design electrical enclosures for thermal performance and IP65+ environmental protection
  • Run FEA (structural, thermal) and CFD (enclosure thermal management, internal flow path design and geometry optimization) to validate and iterate on designs prior to fabrication
  • Create and maintain engineering drawings, BOMs, tolerance stack-ups, and build documentation

Prototyping & Validation

  • Build and assemble prototypes hands-on in our Neihu office
  • Develop and execute design verification test plans (thermal, vibration, ingress protection, mechanical stress)
  • Identify and retire design risks systematically using FMEA or equivalent methods
  • Drive root cause analysis on mechanical issues from lab and field testing

Vendor & Manufacturing

  • Identify, evaluate, and qualify vendors and contract manufacturers in Taiwan and across Asia
  • Own the mechanical BOM — sourcing, quoting, lead time management, and cost optimization
  • Review vendor tooling designs for DFM compliance

Project Coordination

  • Define design iteration plans, maintain the engineering schedule, and coordinate prototype build priorities
  • Collaborate with electrical, firmware, and controls team members on system integration

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience designing physical hardware products through to production
  • Proficient in SolidWorks (complex assemblies, detailed drawings, clean file management)
  • Demonstrated DFM experience across sheet metal, CNC machining, welding/brazing, and ideally injection molding
  • Hands-on FEA (structural, thermal) experience applied to real design decisions
  • Tolerance analysis, GD&T, and stack-up calculations
  • Experience managing vendor and supplier relationships for manufactured parts
  • Comfortable building and troubleshooting prototypes on a workbench
  • Strong English communication; Chinese (Mandarin) is a significant plus
  • Willing to travel to vendor facilities and pilot sites in Taiwan (10–20% of the role)

Preferred

  • Experience shipping a hardware product from development to market
  • Experience designing outdoor-rated or industrial equipment (IP-rated enclosures, thermal management, corrosion-resistant materials)
  • Familiarity with fluid system components: pumps, valves, regulators, flow controllers, tubing/fittings
  • Experience with semiconductor process equipment, cleanroom-compatible materials, or high-purity fluid handling
  • Startup or small-team environment experience
  • Experience designing equipment for harsh or outdoor environments (coastal, high-humidity, corrosive)

Compensation and Benefits

Salary based on experience and qualifications. Time off and holidays follow Taiwanese labor law. Sick leave is flexible.
