Job Description

Group Insurance Programmes Lead - GH

Our client is looking for an insurance professional to manage group insurance programmes and risks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the annual renewal of the Group's insurance programme, including the collection and consolidation of underwriting information from headquarters and overseas subsidiaries, and work with insurance advisers to secure competitive terms that deliver cost savings, enhanced coverage, and reduced risk gaps.
  • Coordinate and procure local insurance policies, including locally admitted programmes, for overseas operations and assets.
  • Conduct insurance-related risk assessments with key stakeholders to identify, analyse, and evaluate risks, assess the adequacy of coverage limits, and recommend enhancements to the insurance programme.
  • Administer insurance policies, contracts, and related databases, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Review insurance premiums, oversee invoicing and cost allocations, and ensure timely payment processing.
  • Evaluate, appoint, and manage insurance brokers to ensure effective service delivery and value creation.
  • Provide guidance on insurance-related matters, including the review of insurance, indemnity, and risk transfer clauses in contracts, and deliver timely advice to stakeholders.
  • Review Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and new business initiatives to identify emerging risks, assess insurance implications, and determine the adequacy of existing insurance coverage.
  • Support mergers and acquisitions (M&A), financing transactions, and strategic projects by evaluating risks and securing appropriate insurance protection.
  • Assist in insurance due diligence exercises, including site visits and risk inspections where required.
  • Lead the preparation and management of the annual insurance budget.
  • Oversee claims management and administration, including reporting, investigation, negotiation, and resolution of claims in collaboration with insurers and brokers.

Requirements

  • Degree holder with Certificate of General Insurance (CGI) or equivalent qualification.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Hands-on team player with a positive attitude and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in commercial non-life insurance, including complex P&C and Financial Lines policies.
  • Experience in arranging and managing overseas insurance programmes.
  • Knowledge of insurance market practices in China, Vietnam, and Thailand is advantageous.
  • Prior experience with an insurance company, broker, or corporate insurance function preferred.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in reading Chinese business documents and fluent Mandarin is an advantage.
