Job Description
The Department of Management at City University of Hong Kong invites applications for the position of Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA). This is a 12-month appointment with the possibility of extension subject to performance and operational needs.
Duties
The appointee will provide comprehensive support to the Department in programme administration, teaching-related activities, and student engagement initiatives. Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting in programme-related activities, including admission interviews, student selection processes, and applicant communications
- Supporting programme promotion initiatives such as preparing promotional materials, updating digital content, and coordinating outreach activities
- Assisting faculty members with course-related administrative tasks
- Coordinating and organising student activities, seminars, talks, workshops, and other academic or coâcurricular events
- Liaising with students, faculty members, and external stakeholders as required
- Preparing reports, presentation materials, and documentation for departmental use
- Providing on-site logistical support during events and activities and
- Performing any other duties as assigned by the Department.
The appointee is expected to work collaboratively with academic and administrative staff to ensure the smooth operation of departmental programmes and activities.
Requirements
- A Master's/Bachelor's degree
- Excellent command of written and spoken English
- Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in common office applications (e.g., MS Office and some common AI softwares) and
- Knowledge of graphic design and image-processing software (e.g., Canva or similar AI tools).
- Relevant professional and/or teaching experience in tertiary education or a related environment is preferred.
- Experience in event organisation, programme promotion, and student engagement activities is highly desirable.
Candidates with a proactive attitude, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team will be particularly valued.
