As part of expansion we are currently seeking a Proposal Engineer – North Asia to join our Global Proposal Team, supporting the North Asia region. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and delivering high-quality technical and commercial proposals that meet customer requirements and align with GF's business strategies.
You will work closely with the Global Proposal Lead, Regional Sales Teams, and the PFC APAC Head to ensure proposals are accurate, competitive, and submitted in a timely manner. This position plays a critical role in supporting project pursuits and driving successful conversion of opportunities across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver high-quality technical and commercial proposals, including detailed documentation, cost estimation, and bid strategy.
- Collaborate with the Global Proposal Lead to ensure proposals are aligned with global standards, processes, and templates.
- Partner closely with Regional Sales Teams and the PFC APAC Head to interpret customer requirements and develop optimal technical solutions.
- Coordinate cross-functional inputs (Engineering, Sourcing, Finance, Legal) to ensure comprehensive, accurate, and competitive submissions.
- Manage proposal timelines, monitor progress, and proactively identify risks and opportunities to ensure on-time delivery.
- Maintain clear tracking and reporting of proposal status, including pipeline visibility and key milestones.
- Ensure full compliance with company policies, commercial guidelines, and customer specifications throughout the proposal process.
- Support continuous improvement of proposal processes, tools, and documentation standards within the global team.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline).
- 3–5 years of experience in proposal engineering, tendering, or project estimation, preferably within industrial, infrastructure, or energy sectors.
- Good working knowledge of engineering and design tools (e.g., Autodesk, SolidWorks, NX).
- Strong understanding of technical documentation, cost structures, and bid/tendering processes.
- Proficient in MS Office, CRM platforms, and ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
- Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a global, matrixed environment across multiple time zones.
Communication & Stakeholder Engagement
- Ability to present, explain, and defend technical solutions and GF recommendations to a wide range of stakeholders.
- Regular interaction with internal teams (Sales, Engineering, Management) and external parties (clients, end-users, consultants, and specialized engineers).
Experience & Competency Requirements
- Overall professional experience: 3–5 years
- Experience in a similar role: Minimum 1–2 years
Technical & Domain Knowledge
- Sound knowledge of engineering software for modelling, design, and basic analysis.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards and codes for piping and installations, including:
- ISO
- EN/DIN
- ASME
- DVS / AWS
