We are retain by a global fortune 100 organization to recruit a specialist consultant who can support our client - a global transformation within the Air Traffic Control (ATC) business line of a global technology company (focused on defense, aerospace, and cyber & digital) would require a highly specific and integrated set of skills and experience. Given our client focus on defense, aerospace, and cyber & digital, the consultant needs a profile that bridges these domains with traditional ATC.
Responsibilities:
You have at least 15 years of continue experience overseeing the integration of complex, heterogeneous systemsa hallmark of ATM projects. This often involves legacy radar/CNS (Communication, Navigation, Surveillance) systems alongside new software-defined and digital platforms.
Deep familiarity with the standards and methodologies required for developing, certifying, and deploying safety-critical, high-integrity systems (e.g., adherence to DO-178C, DO-254 standards). Specific experience integrating advanced cybersecurity practices (e.g., zero-trust architecture, threat modeling) and modern DevSecOps principles into the development lifecycle of ATM software solutions.
In summary, you are not just an ATC expert or a generic change management specialist, but a rare combination, strategy consultant with deep, certifiable knowledge of safety-critical aerospace/defense technology and the operational realities of global ANSPs.
Requirements:
- You have split careers between a national ANSP (like CAAS) or a research body (like ATMRI) AND a major global technology vendor or consulting firm. This combination is the strongest indicator of the profile you are seeking.
- Deep, current understanding of the ATC landscape, extending beyond basic technical knowledge.
- You are a Business Transformation Leader who speaks the language of Air Traffic Management and has a verifiable track record of implementing Digital and Cultural Change within a safety-critical, global environment.
- Expertise in key organizations and regulations (e.g., ICAO, SESAR in Europe, NextGen in the US, national ANSPs) and their impact on technology adoption and operational procedures.
- Capacity & Efficiency: Understanding the pressure to handle increasing traffic volumes safely and efficiently.
- Knowledge of the aging workforce and the need for modern training and simulation systems.
- Specific risks to critical ATC infrastructure, including radar, communication, and network systems.
- Understanding the push for more fuel-efficient routing and its reliance on advanced ATM solutions.

- Change Management (Culture Focus): Proven ability to lead large-scale cultural change in highly safety-critical environments (like ATC and defense/aerospace).
