Global Air Logistics Gateway Operations Manager

The mission of the role is to lead and drive the global air logistics gateway operations, this includes the dotted line leadership of the gateway managers, setting of rules of engagement, definition of global gateway standards and the accountability for the overall results within the gateways.

How you create impact

• Leadership of the global gateway teams, incl. warehousing and transportation within the gateway operations.
• Evolvement, creation and maintenance of global gateway standards, particularly rules of engagement.
• Identify system gaps, define demands and moderate /drive the development of accordingly systems executed by GA-I team
• Enable global Air logistics growth in conjunction with MA-XX and MA-XD to facilitate their tasks, by best possible foundation for optimized buying, cost efficient production and stable performance
• Responsibility for the global gateway P/L and correlated topics like incentives
• Drive productivity and competitiveness through Global GatewaySOPs, operational framework, synchronized centralization and if feasible outsourcing and automation (covering operations, accounting, warehousing, transportation)
• Evaluate the current Gateway network and operations and make recommendations that would enhance / streamline our operations
• Establish and monitor KPI's for the Gateways
• Evaluate line haul programs feeding/de-feeding the Gateways to look for areas of alignment and leverage that will drive for faster transit times and cost benefits.
• Hold periodic Gateway conference calls & meetings to develop a cohesive team
• Evaluate, propose and implement strategy for possible new import and export Gateways

What we would like you to bring

• High knowledge of freight forwarding, operations and import-export regulations
• Expert level of knowledge on operational procedures KN internal and external
• High knowledge of the KN systems landscape
• High knowledge of financial setups and procedures
• Bachelor / Master's degree in business administration / economics / logistics desirable or equivalent via work experience and continued education . Knowledge of the air cargo industry
• High degree of self-motivation and creativity.
• Commercial and analytical mindset.
• Ability to lead an intercultural team.
• Excellent communication skills
• Willingness to travel.
• Fluency in English (both written and spoken).
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Power Point and Word)
