Job Summary
The General Manager, Taiwan will be fully responsible for driving business growth and overall operations in the Taiwan market. This role owns market performance and growth outcomes, translates HQ strategy into localized execution, and leads GTM, sales, and operational initiatives. The ideal candidate is a hands-on business leader who can operate across strategy and execution, build and scale local teams, and drive results in a fast growing, early stage environment.
Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Business Management
- Based on the overall headquarters(HQ) strategy and combined with Taiwan market characteristics (user habits, competitive landscape, policy environment), formulate comprehensive market entry strategies, growth paths, and phased business objectives.
- Continuously monitor and analyze core business indicators. Utilize data insights to identify operational risks and opportunities, adjusting tactics in a timely manner to ensure targets are met.
- Maintain close collaboration with HQ product, teaching research, and marketing teams to drive product iteration and marketing schemes tailored to the local Taiwan market, enhancing product-market fit.
Building Business Growth & Sales Systems
- Formulate diversified customer acquisition strategies and construct an efficient traffic acquisition matrix.
- Build and manage the full-link sales process from lead acquisition to deal conversion.
- Leveraging B2C business experience, explore innovative growth models suitable for the Taiwan market.
Organizational Construction & Comprehensive Operations
- Based on business development stages, plan the organizational structure; recruit and manage the local core team from scratch, including Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Service functions.
- Responsible for site selection and daily operational management of the Taiwan office; liaise with local legal, tax, and HR service providers to ensure strict regulatory compliance and compliant operations in Taiwan.
- During the startup and expansion phases, demonstrate a strong pragmatic spirit with the ability to personally participate in critical business breakthroughs and operational tasks, ensuring execution efficiency and quality.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or above with 10+ years of relevant work experience, with a deep background in Taiwan local market operations and execution.
- Experience in EdTech or the education industry is preferred, or profound insight into online education products and B2C business models.
- Possess cross-functional general management experience, with a capability model covering business growth, sales management, marketing, and operational system construction.
- Possess successful experience in pioneering new markets from 0-to-1 or business scaling, with a strong entrepreneurial mindset and resilience under pressure.
- Highly sensitive to business data with excellent business judgment, capable of guiding strategic adjustments and refined operations through data analysis.
- Prior experience working in or interfacing with Chinese enterprises is preferred.
