Oversee and manage the overall operations of the construction company to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget.
Develop and implement business strategies, operational plans, and policies to support company growth and profitability.
Provide overall leadership and direction to project managers, engineers, supervisors, administrative staff, and site teams.
Plan, coordinate, and monitor multiple construction projects from tendering and pre-construction through to completion and handover.
Review project schedules, budgets, manpower requirements, procurement plans, and construction progress to ensure project objectives are achieved.
Review and approve project budgets, cost estimates, procurement requirements, subcontractor appointments, and major expenditures within delegated authority.
Ensure effective procurement and timely availability of construction materials, equipment, subcontractors, and other resources.
Manage relationships and negotiations with clients, consultants, architects, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and other business partners.
Review contracts and ensure that contractual obligations, milestones, deliverables, payment terms, variations, and claims are properly managed.
Identify potential project, commercial, financial, operational, and contractual risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
Ensure all construction activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, building requirements, contractual obligations, and company policies.
Promote and enforce high standards of workplace health, safety, environmental protection, and quality control across all projects.
Monitor site performance and conduct regular project and operational reviews to identify delays, cost overruns, quality issues, and other challenges.
Ensure appropriate corrective and preventive actions are implemented to address project issues and improve performance.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients to support customer satisfaction, repeat business, and business development.
Lead the preparation and submission of tenders, quotations, budgets, and proposals, and participate in negotiations with prospective clients.
Identify new construction projects and business opportunities and develop strategies to increase the company's market presence and revenue.
Manage and develop the company's workforce, including recruitment, training, performance evaluation, staff development, and succession planning.
Establish clear performance targets and KPIs for project and operational teams and regularly evaluate their performance.
Ensure effective communication and coordination between the head office, project sites, management, and external stakeholders.
Review monthly management, project progress, financial, and operational reports and provide recommendations to the Directors or senior management.
Improve operational efficiency through effective systems, processes, cost-control measures, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure proper documentation, records, project reports, contracts, drawings, approvals, and other construction-related documentation are maintained.
Represent the company at client meetings, project meetings, negotiations, inspections, and industry events.
Support the Directors in strategic decision-making, business planning, financial management, and long-term company development.
Ensure projects are successfully completed, defects are properly rectified, and final accounts and handover documentation are closed out promptly.
Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Directors or senior management.
