Job Description

General Manager — Taiwan (Wealth Management Platform | Insurance, Trust & Family Office Consortium)

Role Summary

The General Manager (GM) will serve as the senior leadership representative for the company's Taiwan operations. This role is responsible for building and scaling strategic relationships across insurance, trust services, and family office ecosystem partners, while driving commercial growth, governance, client experience, and operational excellence. The GM will lead cross-functional execution with regional and headquarters teams to develop sustainable revenue streams, ensure strong compliance and risk management, and establish the consortium as a trusted platform for high-net-worth clients and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

1) Leadership & Business Growth

  • Own overall business performance in Taiwan, including revenue targets, client acquisition/retention, profitability, and sustainable pipeline development.
  • Develop and execute the Taiwan market strategy for the platform's core propositions: Insurance, Trust, and Family Office consortium collaboration.
  • Build a credible market presence through thought leadership, industry events, and strategic partnerships.
  • Identify and pursue growth opportunities (e.g., partner expansion, new service offerings, client segment strategy, co-branded initiatives).

2) Partnership & Ecosystem Development

  • Establish and manage relationships with key stakeholders across the wealth ecosystem, including:
  • Insurance providers and brokers
  • Trust companies / fiduciary partners
  • Family office operators and investment advisors
  • Legal, tax, and estate planning professionals
  • Wealth management and distribution partners
  • Create structured partnership models to expand the consortium's reach and service capability.
  • Ensure partner alignment on standards, service quality, and client outcomes.

3) Client Strategy & Advisory Oversight

  • Guide the development of client solutions for high-net-worth individuals and families, coordinating across insurance and trust structuring and ongoing wealth stewardship.
  • Oversee client onboarding, needs assessment, solution design, and lifecycle management to ensure a premium experience.
  • Ensure all client-facing materials and advice processes are consistent with the platform's risk, governance, and suitability standards.

4) Operations, Governance & Risk Management

  • Establish and maintain strong operational processes for Taiwan, including internal controls, partner governance, service delivery workflows, and audit readiness.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Taiwan regulations and licensing requirements for wealth-related services and partner activities (in coordination with compliance/legal teams).
  • Manage operational KPIs and ensure service-level standards are achieved.

5) Team Management & Talent Development

  • Lead and develop the Taiwan management team (direct reports and key functional roles), including hiring, performance management, coaching, and succession planning.
  • Build a high-performing culture aligned with client excellence, integrity, and disciplined execution.

6) Financial Management

  • Own the annual budget, forecast, and operating plan for Taiwan.
  • Monitor financial performance, efficiency, cost control, and investment prioritization.
  • Provide regular performance reporting to regional/global leadership.

7) Stakeholder Management

  • Represent the organization with senior external stakeholders (including regulators where appropriate, strategic partners, and industry leaders).
  • Maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and ensure seamless coordination with HQ/regional functions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 15+ years of relevant experience in wealth management, private banking, insurance distribution/operations, trust/fiduciary services, family office advisory, or related financial services.
  • Proven senior leadership experience (e.g., GM/Director/Head of Taiwan/Region or equivalent).
  • Strong track record in building business from relationship networks and expanding ecosystems through partnerships.
  • Deep understanding of wealth structuring concepts, including insurance planning, estate planning considerations, trust/fiduciary frameworks, and HNW client needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth while maintaining strong compliance and governance.
  • Professional fluency in Traditional Chinese, Taiwanese and English (spoken and written).
  • Experience working with (or through) regulated financial services environments in Taiwan is strongly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Direct experience in Taiwan's insurance/trust/fiduciary ecosystem.
  • Existing relationships with insurers, trust/fiduciary partners, or family offices in Taiwan.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements relevant to wealth advisory, insurance distribution, fiduciary services, and client suitability.
  • Familiarity with consortium models/ platform-based partner ecosystems.
