The Opportunity
Ascott Taipei is a 185-key, full-service hotel/ residence. We are seeking an experienced, commercially driven General Manager to lead the property's performance, uphold brand standards, and strengthen the franchise partnership. This role is ideal for a leader with deep Taiwan market knowledge and strong sales & marketing capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business & Commercial Leadership
- Drive top-line performance and profitability with a strong focus on revenue generation, demand segmentation, and channel optimisation.
- Develop and execute property-level sales, marketing and distribution strategies, with emphasis on MICE, corporate long-stay, and retail transient segments.
2. Operational Excellence
- Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure service quality, brand compliance, operational efficiency, and guest satisfaction.
- Maintain robust relationship with the owners and leading the operational teams.
- Ensure compliance with Ascott brand standards, safety requirements, and audit expectations.
3. Stakeholder Management
- Act as Ascott's brand custodian, ensuring the property operates in alignment with brand standards and delivers consistent ASR Members and guest experiences.
- Build a strong partnership with the owner through effective communication, business reviews, performance discussions and alignment on strategic initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with Ascott's Franchise Support on performance reporting, quality assurance, revenue management, marketing, and training.
4. People Leadership
- Lead, mentor and develop the on-property team to deliver high service standards and operational excellence.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Champion Ascott's service philosophy and deepen employee engagement.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 10 years of hospitality experience, with at least 5 years as General Manager.
- Strongly preferred: Experience working in Taiwan, with understanding of local regulations, labour market and operating environment.
- Candidates currently in a No.2 role (Hotel/Residence Manager) will also be considered if they demonstrate readiness for a step-up.
- Sales & Marketing experience strongly preferred, especially in corporate, MICE and long-stay segments.
- Demonstrated ability to drive commercial performance in competitive markets.
- Proven experience working with franchise owners, asset-light operators, or multi-stakeholder environments is an advantage.
- Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluent in Mandarin and English (written and spoken).
