Department of Paediatrics
Full-time / Part-time Nurse
The appointee will work at the Prince of Wales Hospital (PWH) and other hospitals, and will serve in the genetic/metabolic and newborn screening team of the Department. Duties include (a) co-ordinating the logistics of newborn screening programme in the Department of Paediatrics and the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (b) organising the genetic clinic and study (c) obtaining parental consent, collecting blood spot samples from newborns, and tracking records and statistics of the newborn screening programme (d) participating in the metabolic team clinic and newborn screening clinic (e) offering genetic counselling to patient and (f) assisting in the daily operation of Hong Kong Genome Project at PWH. On-the-job training will be provided.
Applicants should be/have (i) registered nurses in Hong Kong (ii) a valid Practising Certificate issued by The Nursing Council of Hong Kong (iii) a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (iv) at least 2 years clinical experience and (v) high self-motivation and good organisational skills. Having experience in paediatric/obstetric services and handling newborn screening and genetic cases will be advantageous.
Appointment will initially be made on a 1-year contract, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
