Firmware Application Engineer - OpenBMC

Join NVIDIA as a Open Application Engineer. NVIDIA leads the way in high-growth fields such as High-Performance Computing (HPC), Artificial Intelligence (AI), cloud data centers, and gaming. Open is a critical open-source platform for management, enabling NVIDIA and our partners to next-generation GPU platforms with performance, security, and reliability. You will supply to launching new products, developing core , and enhancing Open in the open-source community. Collaborate with various teams, customers, and partners to promote Open. This role involves solving technical challenges, influencing industry standards, and finding fulfillment in empowering NVIDIA's data center platforms.

What you'll be doing:

• Develop Open and core features to support next-generation GPU platforms.

• Participate in and upstream Open code, helping with the open-source community to steer feature demands and guide project direction.

• and implement manageability and monitoring solutions for enterprise components such as CPU, GPU, DIMM, SSD, NIC, PSU, FPGA, and CPLD.

• Leverage industry standards (MCTP, Redfish, SPDM, PLDM, PMBus, NVMe, etc.) to high-performance and secure solutions.

• Collaborate with and security teams to align with product security goals and influence compose decisions.

• Work closely with customers and partners to enable, debug, and optimize Open solutions while building the ecosystem.

• Provide technical mentorship, training, and documentation to help customers and ecosystem partners adopt Open more effectively.

• Overseas or domestic travel for customer engagement and product support as required.

What we need to see:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.

• 2+ years of relevant experience, with a proven background in large-scale projects and multi-functional collaboration.

• Strong expertise in development, including - communication, thermal/ management, update, device monitoring, and security.

• Deep knowledge of Linux, including command-line usage, driver model, and Linux kernel internals.

• Board experience with device drivers (I2C/I3C, SPI, , SMBus, Mailbox, etc.) and device trees for U-Boot and Linux kernel.

• Proficiency in C/C++ with scripting skills in Python or Bash.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with flexibility in task assignments and the ability to translate requirements and challenges into actionable solutions.
