Numerix is seeking a highly motivated recent university graduate with a finance degree who is willing to learn about convertible securities. The Financial Research Assistant is willing to apply their financial background to understand the nuances of this niche financial market. The ideal candidate should have strong communication skills with attention to detail. The applicant will play a critical role in growing the Kynex division of Numerix on a global scale.

What You'll Do:

  • Acquire deep understanding of convertible securities and how they trade.
  • Assist Research Team in global support of buy-side and sell-side clients including Hedge Funds and Banks.
  • Create and modify various financial securities in our database with careful precision.
  • Interpret Term Sheets, Prospectuses, Indentures, and various other corporate filings.
  • Research sources for financial documentation for convertibles within various international markets.
  • Apply financial background to support traders, middle offices, back offices, and risk teams.
  • Communicate with clients to gain an understanding of the nuances of convertibles that trade outside the US and Canada and bring that feedback to the team which will drive model enhancements.
  • Collaborate with quantitative developers to test model enhancements which impact valuations.
  • Willingness to travel to New Jersey for several weeks for initial training with the Kynex Research Team.
  • While there is no specific amount of travel required, we ask for flexibility in potentially visiting clients, etc.
  • Willingness to work early mornings or evenings during the training process.
  • Use Salesforce to track customer interactions.
  • Ability to give demonstrations to clients or perspective new clients on Kynex products.

What We're Looking for:

  • Strong communication skills and fully fluent in English - in spoken word and writing.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance.
  • Understanding basic concepts of corporate/high yield bonds and options.
  • Familiarity with basic Microsoft products including Excel.

Extra Credit:

  • If you are business-fluent in Mandarin.

This is a remote role based in our Taipei office.
