At COP, we're here to unlock the full potential of offshore wind to power the world, and there's no time to waste.

As part of our team, you'll work on market-leading projects with some of the most experienced and passionate people in the industry. Together, we get stuff done and own the impact of our work, with respect and safety always at the core. Founded in 2015, we are the exclusive offshore wind development partner to Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, the world's largest dedicated fund manager within greenfield energy investments.

So, if you are ready to go further than you ever imagined, we are eager to hear from you and encourage you to apply.

The Role

We are looking for a Finance / OPEX Controller to join our Finance team in Taiwan and support the financial management of our offshore wind development and operational activities.

In this role, you will be responsible for budgeting, forecasting, expenditure control, financial reporting, and business partnering across a diverse portfolio of development and operational activities. You will work closely with project teams, engineering, procurement, commercial, and leadership stakeholders to ensure sound financial governance and informed decision-making.

The successful candidate will play a key role in managing operational expenditure (OPEX), supporting contract-related financial matters, coordinating with external accounting and tax advisors, and ensuring financial processes and reporting are delivered accurately and efficiently.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include

  • Review, monitor, and control operational expenditures, ensuring costs are incurred in line with approved budgets and business objectives.
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Prepare financial analyses, variance reports, and management reporting packs, highlighting key trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Monitor actual spend against budgets and forecasts, providing clear recommendations and corrective actions where required.
  • Partner with business stakeholders across engineering, construction, procurement, project management, and commercial functions to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
  • Review and analyze costs associated with engineering, construction, consultancy, service, and supplier contracts.
  • Support financial assessment of both purchase-based and service-based agreements, ensuring contractual commitments are accurately reflected in budgets and forecasts.
  • Coordinate month-end and year-end closing activities, including accruals, prepayments, and cost allocations.
  • Liaise with external accounting firms, auditors, and tax advisors to ensure compliance with local statutory, tax, and reporting requirements.
  • Support corporate governance, internal controls, and compliance activities.
  • Contribute to process improvements and the continuous development of financial systems, reporting tools, and controls.
  • Assist management with ad hoc financial analyses, business cases, and decision-support materials.

Your Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • 6-8 years of relevant experience in financial controlling, accounting, finance, audit, or related areas.
  • Experience within infrastructure, renewable energy, engineering, construction, project-based environments, or professional services would be highly advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, management reporting, and variance analysis.
  • Experience reviewing and managing expenditure related to engineering, construction, professional services, and operational activities.
  • Familiarity with contract financial management, including both service contracts and procurement agreements.
  • Experience working with external auditors, accounting providers, and tax advisors.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial controls.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP or financial reporting systems.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into practical business insights.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Professional accounting qualifications (CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent) are considered an advantage.
