Key Responsibilities
Accounting Operations & Financial Reporting
- Coach, guide, and supervise accounting team members to ensure accuracy and efficiency of daily operations
- Oversee full set of accounts, including Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and General Ledger (GL)
- Lead and finalize monthly closing process in accordance with group reporting timelines
- Prepare and review financial statements (balance sheet and P&L), including variance analysis and commentary
- Prepare monthly reporting packages, including royalty schedules
- Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations, including but not limited to:
- Professional fees
- Payroll
- Rental expenses
- Royalty
- Other revenue
- Monitor and resolve reconciling items on a timely basis
- Ensure accounting records are maintained in compliance with company policies and accounting standards
FP&A & Group Reporting
- Completing the budget & forecast process for Taiwan as requested through the year
- Completing templates provided by FP&A team (eg variable expenses, S&M, A&P, G&A etc)
- Uploading budget and forecast data into Adaptive planning system
- Reconciling budget and forecast data with Adaptive Planning system
- Prepare and submit required group reporting, including:
- Quarterly Tax Forecast Submission to US HQ
- Quarterly reporting packages and presentation templates
- Watson's NIV quarterly reports (internal management reporting)
- Coordinate and deliver year-end reporting requirements, including preparation and submission of Other Information Excel files
- Complete ad hoc tasks assigned by manager
Taxation, Audit & Treasury
- Ensure timely and accurate VAT filings and annual corporate income tax filings in compliance with local regulations
- Act as the primary contact for external auditors (e.g., EY), coordinating audit activities and preparing required documentation
- Manage banking relationships and treasury-related activities (e.g., Standard Chartered Bank)
- Complete weekly Cash flow forecast
Systems & Process Governance
- Maintain and operate financial systems, including SAP, SAP Concur, Leasecalcs, BlackLine, and Smartsheet
- Perform system-related control procedures in compliance with Taiwan regulatory requirements, including:
- Bi-monthly maintenance of Taiwan uniform invoice number ranges
- Supporting SAP configuration, validation, and testing to ensure proper invoice issuance
- Ensure proper system controls and data integrity
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and drive efficiency enhancements
Cross-functional Coordination
Sales
- Review and approve sales deduction requests
- Provide monthly financial reports and analysis
- Deliver weekly SAP inventory reports
- Provide actual gross sales reports on a bi-daily basis (every two days)
Operations
- Monitor and analyze operational cost fluctuations
- Investigate and explain cost variances
Customer Service
- Support issuance of after-sales service invoices
- Ensure proper revenue recognition and collection tracking
Marketing
- Provide monthly advertising expense details
- Monitor expense claims and ensure timely and accurate booking
Human Resources
- Coordinate with HR (including regional HR if applicable) to verify employee attendance and leave records
Administrative & Operational Support
- Oversee general administrative support activities, including office supplies procurement and office resource management
- Review and process document approval requests (e.g., company chop for customers and vendors)
- Support insurance administration (e.g., group insurance)
- Assist in business operations, internal projects, and ad hoc assignments
Key Role Expectations
- Ensure accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial data and reporting
- Maintain strong internal controls and compliance with both local regulations and group policies
- Act as a business partner to support operational and strategic decision-making
- Drive collaboration across departments and foster a proactive, solution-oriented work environment
