Finance Director, North Asia

We are conducting a confidential search for an accomplished Finance Director, North Asia to lead the finance function across a complex, multi-country business.

This is a senior leadership role for someone who combines strategic thinking with a genuinely hands-on mindset. We are looking for a finance leader who can partner with senior management on growth, profitability and business performance, while remaining close enough to the numbers and operations to ensure strong execution.

The successful candidate will have broad ownership across FP&A, accounting, controlling, treasury, tax, compliance, working capital, governance and finance transformation, supported by a lean internal structure and outsourced/shared-service resources.

THE ROLE

• You will act as a key finance partner to North Asia leadership, translating financial performance into clear commercial insights and actionable recommendations. You will drive gross profit, EBITDA, cash flow and working-capital performance, while providing constructive challenge and financial leadership to commercial and operational teams.
• You will own the region's budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and performance analysis, ensuring senior stakeholders have timely, accurate and decision-oriented information.
• Importantly, this is not a purely strategic or corporate finance position. The Finance Director must be comfortable getting into the detail when required, including maintaining strong oversight of accounting, statutory reporting, tax, controls and compliance.
• Hands-on knowledge of Taiwan statutory accounting and tax requirements is particularly important.
• You will also play a key role in finance transformation, including process standardization, shared-service/BPO delivery, automation, ERP effectiveness and continuous improvement across North Asia.
• The role will lead and develop finance resources across the region while managing relationships with external stakeholders including auditors, tax advisors, banks and insurers.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We are particularly interested in candidates who bring:

• 15+ years of progressive finance experience, including senior finance leadership in a regional or multi-country environment.
• A strong combination of strategic leadership and hands-on financial capability.
• Strong Taiwan accounting, statutory and tax knowledge, with the willingness and ability to remain operationally involved when necessary.
• Demonstrated experience as a commercial business partner, influencing senior leadership and challenging the business constructively.
• Strong command of FP&A, accounting, controls, cash flow and working-capital management.
• Experience working with outsourced finance/BPO or shared-service models, including process standardization and transition.
• Experience leading finance transformation, systems improvement and process automation.
• Strong people leadership and change-management capability.
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; ERP experience is essential, with JD Edwards experience highly advantageous.
• Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline; CPA and/or MBA preferred.
