Job Description

FACFO is a Singapore-based management accounting and fractional CFO firm. We look after the finances of SMEs, startups and growing businesses, from day-to-day bookkeeping and management reporting through to tax compliance and CFO-level advisory. We run a modern, automation-first practice, and we are now growing our team in Taipei.

This is a hands-on, on-site role in Taipei for someone who genuinely enjoys finance and wants more than a narrow accounting seat. You will join on a standard employment contract, and a clear pay step-up at the twelve-month mark as you take on more. We are a small and growing firm, which means there is little room for people who only follow instructions. You will own a portfolio of client accounts, keep the numbers clean and accurate, and get involved in the wider work of building the firm: process improvement, new tools, and business development. The people who do well here are self-driven and genuinely motivated to make a difference and move the firm forward, rather than wait to be told.

What you will do

●    Manage the day-to-day bookkeeping and transaction processing for a portfolio of clients, mostly in Xero.

●    Carry out bank, customer, supplier and general ledger reconciliations.

●    Prepare monthly management accounts and financial statements.

●    Support tax and statutory compliance, including GST, withholding tax and annual filings.

●    Improve how we work by setting up automation, bank rules and reusable templates.

●    Contribute to wider projects such as system implementations, process design and business development support.

What we are looking for

●    A strong technical accounting foundation, with a degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent experience.

●    Ideally 2 to 4 years of hands-on accounting or bookkeeping experience.

●    A professional qualification such as CIMA, CPA or ACCA, or a Taiwan CPA or Certified Public Bookkeeper qualification, is a strong plus.

●    Fluency in both Chinese and English. Both are essential for this role.

●    A genuine love of working with startups and SMEs. Their books are often messier and less organised than those of larger companies, and you should enjoy bringing order to that rather than be put off by it.

●    A self-starter who takes ownership and is genuinely motivated to make a difference and help move the firm forward.

●    A creative, resourceful approach, with a genuine interest in finance and a willingness to take on varied projects beyond core accounting.

●    A hands-on, detail-focused way of working.

●    Comfort with cloud accounting and spreadsheets, with Xero experience a strong plus.

●    Based in Taipei with the existing right to work in Taiwan. We are not able to sponsor a work visa for this role.

What we offer

●    Starting compensation of TWD 42,000 per month, with a performance-linked pay review at twelve months targeting TWD 50,000 per month as you take on more. What you earn is linked to the value you bring.

●    Flexible working hours.

●    14 days of paid annual leave, plus Taiwan public holidays.

●    No make-up workdays.

●    The option to work one day per week from home after probation.

●    A dedicated annual training and development budget.

●    A clear progression path within a permanent role from day one.

●    Exposure to international clients and a scope well beyond bookkeeping.
