Job Description

An established global technology organization is seeking a Customer Service Engineer to support advanced semiconductor equipment deployed at customer manufacturing facilities in Taiwan. The role emphasizes handson technical support, system reliability, and customer engagement, with responsibilities spanning installation through lifecycle support.

This position is ideal for engineers who enjoy working directly in fab environments, solving complex hardware issues, and collaborating across international technical teams.

What You Will Do

OnSite Equipment Support

  • Serve as the primary technical contact at customer sites for assigned systems.
  • Ensure stable operation and high availability of semiconductor tools through structured maintenance and troubleshooting activities.
  • Respond efficiently to equipment issues to minimize operational impact.

System Deployment & Readiness

  • Support system delivery activities, including installation, startup, and operational readiness.
  • Verify equipment performance against defined requirements before customer acceptance.
  • Assist customers during initial rampup periods following tool deployment.

Maintenance & Technical Resolution

  • Carry out both planned maintenance and urgent repairs on complex electromechanical systems.
  • Diagnose root causes using system diagnostics, logs, and engineering judgment.
  • Implement corrective actions, parts replacement, and system recovery procedures.

Performance Optimization

  • Execute system calibrations, adjustments, and functional checks to maintain performance consistency.
  • Support system matching and stability requirements based on customer process needs.
  • Implement hardware changes, upgrades, and improvements as required.

Customer Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing

  • Coordinate service activities with customer engineering and production teams.
  • Provide practical guidance and ontool coaching related to system operation, safety, and routine care.
  • Build strong working relationships that foster trust and longterm partnership.

Documentation & Operational Discipline

  • Record service actions clearly and accurately in internal reporting tools.
  • Ensure service records include diagnostics, corrective steps, and followup actions.
  • Maintain professional onsite conduct and service standards at all times.

Internal & CrossRegion Interaction

  • Partner with internal technical specialists, engineers, and remote support teams to resolve complex issues.
  • Share field observations and improvement opportunities with relevant stakeholders.
  • Support occasional assignments outside the primary location when additional coverage is required.

Tools & Parts Stewardship

  • Handle service tools, spare parts, and diagnostic equipment responsibly.
  • Support inventory planning to ensure readiness and quick recovery capability.

What We're Looking For

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Physical Sciences (or equivalent experience).
  • At least 2 years of experience supporting industrial, semiconductor, or precision equipment.
  • Prior exposure to hightechnology manufacturing environments is highly desirable.

Technical Capability

  • Strong aptitude for diagnosing hardwarerelated issues across mechanical, electrical, and motion systems.
  • Ability to work from technical drawings, schematics, and service documentation.
  • Basic familiarity with equipment control systems and data collection tools.
  • Understanding of cleanroom operations, ESD practices, and industrial safety standards.

Work Style & Communication

  • Selfdriven with a strong sense of responsibility for outcomes.
  • Calm and analytical when troubleshooting under time pressure.
  • Effective communicator in Mandarin and English, able to adapt messaging to different audiences.
  • Comfortable working independently while staying connected to remote support teams.
  • Flexible regarding work schedules, overtime support, and site travel.
