Position Overview
As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical support of highly specialized precision equipment deployed at customer sites throughout Taiwan.
You will work closely with customers, local operations, and global engineering teams to ensure maximum equipment uptime, performance, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission, and support advanced precision manufacturing equipment at customer facilities.
- Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and troubleshooting activities.
- Provide on-site technical support and rapid issue resolution.
- Support equipment performance optimization and operational efficiency improvements.
- Deliver equipment operation training and technical guidance to customer personnel.
- Act as a trusted technical partner for customers throughout the equipment lifecycle.
- Collaborate directly with customer engineering and manufacturing teams.
- Maintain strong customer relationships through proactive communication and support.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and service quality.
- Work closely with engineering, R&D, and technical support teams.
- Provide feedback on equipment performance, recurring issues, and customer requirements.
- Support continuous product improvement initiatives.
- Prepare service reports and maintain accurate technical documentation.
Requirements
- Experience in Field Service, After-Sales Service, Equipment Maintenance, Commissioning, or Technical Support.
- Hands-on experience with precision manufacturing equipment within one or more of the following sectors: Optical Communications, Photonics, Semiconductor Manufacturing, Semiconductor Packaging, Display Manufacturing, Advanced Electronics Manufacturing.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic capabilities.
- Traditional Chinese language proficiency.
- Willingness to travel extensively within Taiwan.
Preferred
- Experience with optical transceiver manufacturing equipment, alignment systems, photonics equipment, or optical communication technologies.
- Experience supporting semiconductor production, testing, inspection, packaging, metrology, or automation equipment.
- Exposure to high-precision motion systems, robotics, automation, vision systems, or advanced manufacturing technologies.
- English communication skills.
- Experience supporting Tier-1 technology or semiconductor customers.
