Field Engineer Trainee Offshore Operations

Our client, a global organisation within the energy technology sector, is looking for an early-career engineer to join its field operations team in Taiwan.

This is a hands-on position suited to engineering graduates who enjoy working with technical equipment, solving problems on site, and gaining practical exposure in an offshore environment.

Comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided to develop the successful candidate's technical and field capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the preparation, assembly, testing and deployment of specialised field equipment for offshore operations.

• Assist with equipment installation, commissioning, inspection, troubleshooting and maintenance activities.

• Carry out pre-job checks and ensure equipment is properly prepared before field deployment.

• Follow established safety, quality and operational procedures throughout all field activities.

• Assist with risk assessments and maintain high standards of HSE compliance.

• Prepare service records, job reports and other required documentation following field assignments.

• Support equipment and inventory tracking to ensure operational readiness.

• Work closely with customers, internal technical teams and external parties during project execution.

• Participate in structured technical and field training programmes.

• Be prepared for offshore assignments, rotational schedules and relocation based on operational requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Marine, Offshore Engineering, or another relevant engineering discipline.

• Fresh graduates and candidates with approximately 0–2 years of engineering experience are welcome.

• Interest in hands-on technical work, equipment and field-based operations.

• Good problem-solving and troubleshooting ability with a willingness to learn.

• Comfortable working in an offshore/field environment and on rotational schedules.

• Strong awareness of workplace safety and willingness to comply with strict HSE requirements.

• Good communication and teamwork skills.

• Good command of English.

• Willing to be based in Taiwan and travel to field/offshore locations when required.
