Executive Officer II (carrying the job title of SEN Service Manager)

The Wellness and Counselling Centre of the Office of Student Affairs is recruiting an Executive Officer II to further enhance SEN services and to develop and implement new mental wellness initiatives that foster an inclusive and caring university community.

The appointee will be responsible for (a) driving the co-ordination of support services for students with special educational needs (SEN) which involves liaisons with university units and external parties (b) meeting with individual students with SEN, and providing them with guidance and support (c) assisting senior management in monitoring, reviewing, and enhancing support services for students with SEN (d) planning and implementing education programmes and promotional activities to raise awareness towards students with SEN among university students and staff (e) offering training and supervision to the student service team to strengthen service-learning components and equip them with essential skills for implementing SEN-related service projects and (f) performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor(s).

Applicants should have (i) a good Bachelor's degree, preferably in Counselling, Education, Psychology, Social Work or related disciplines (ii) fulfilled the English language requirements set out on the website: https://www.hro.cuhk.edu.hk/en-gb/languageforeo (iii) at least 3 years post-qualification executive experience, preferably with solid experience in taking a supervisory role in administration and office management (iv) an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua) (v) excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills (vi) self-motivation with initiatives and (vii) good team spirit. Prior experience working with individuals with SEN and providing learning support and career preparation to students will be an advantage.
