Executive Officer II (carrying the job title of Assistant Communications Manager)

The appointee will be responsible for (a) providing advice and support to faculty members on external communication matters (b) organising press conference, drafting press release and lining up media interview (c) assisting in daily media monitoring and reporting (d) handling media enquiries and maintaining good relationships with the media (e) monitoring media sentiment and developing relevant communication plans and strategies including formulation of lines to take (f) handling collateral production, preparing presentation materials and writing speechesand (g) performing any other tasks as required.
Applicants should be/have (i) a Bachelor's degree or above in Journalism / Translation / Communications / Marketing / Digital Marketing / Advertising / Public Relations (ii) fulfilled the English language requirements set out on the website: (iii) at least 5 years of post-qualification executive experience in media, journalism, corporate communications, publications or related fields (iv) strong understanding of the current media landscape and effective use of publicity channels in Hong Kong and Chinese Mainland contexts (v) medical knowledge and/or understanding of HK's healthcare system (vi) the ability to translate the technical and scientific knowledge into layman%27s language (vii) the abilty to manage multiple tasks under very tight deadlines (viii) willingness to work irregular hours and outside office hours (ix) strong attention to details (x) good knowledge of computer and software applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint and (xi) excellent writing and editing skills in both English and Chinese. Having work experience in sizable organisation / PR agency, and working with Chinese Mainland, regional and international media is a plus. Having experience of developing promotional copy and social media content for corporate campaigns, and multimedia production, including photo or video, would be an advantage. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.

The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is a public research university in Shatin, Hong Kong, formally established in 1963 by a charter granted by the Legislative Council of Hong Kong. It is the territory's second-oldest university and was founded as a federation of three existing colleges – Chung Chi College, New Asia College and United College – the oldest of which was founded in 1949.
