I am partnering with a leading global financial institution seeking an experienced developer to support and enhance its equity trading technology platform. This role sits close to the front office, working directly with trading desks to deliver high-impact solutions.
Job Responsibilities
- Support and enhance the Fidessa trading platform, including system upgrades and ongoing maintenance for institutional execution desks.
- Design, develop, and improve front-office tools to support trading activities.
- Collaborate closely with traders, sales traders, and middle/back-office teams to gather requirements and deliver effective technical solutions in a fast-paced environment.
- Liaise with external exchanges and vendors to ensure smooth system integration and operations.
- Continuously improve system performance, stability, scalability, and overall operational efficiency.
Job Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with the Fidessa trading platform.
- Solid knowledge of Hong Kong equities and derivatives trading.
- Proven ability to manage system enhancements and upgrades with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated commitment to writing clean, maintainable, and well-structured code.
- 4-12 years of full-stack development experience within the financial services industry.
- Good understanding of financial markets and trading strategies.
- Strong teamwork mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Fluency in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to equity swaps, stock borrowing, and lending products.
- Experience with web technologies (e.g., React, Angular), VBA, Docker, and cloud platforms.
- Proactive, growth-oriented mindset with strong ownership.
- Interest in progressing into a technical leadership or project management role.
