Job Description

Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist/Manager

Role Summary

The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist / Manager is responsible for leading and sustaining site EHS programs to ensure a safe, healthy, and fully compliant work environment.

This role supports the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHS policies, procedures, and management systems in accordance with Taiwan regulatory requirements and company standards.

This position will cover key areas including emergency response, fire protection, risk assessment, contractor safety, vehicle safety, lockout/tagout (LOTO), industrial hygiene, EHS training, and routine site safety inspections.

Key Responsibilities

1. EHS Program Management

  • Develop, implement, and maintain site EHS policies, procedures, and work practices.
  • Support site emergency response planning, preparedness, and response capability.
  • Conduct risk assessments and hazard evaluations to identify, assess, and control workplace risks.
  • Perform routine site safety inspections and safety walks to verify compliance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Drive corrective and preventive actions to address identified hazards and strengthen risk controls

2. Incident Prevention and Investigation

  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions in a timely manner.
  • Determine root causes and support the development and closure of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Track incident trends and recommend preventive measures to reduce recurrence.

3. Regulatory and Management System Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with applicable Taiwan occupational safety and health regulations and internal EHS requirements.
  • Coordinate and support internal and external EHS audits, including ISO 45001 certification and surveillance audits.
  • Prepare, maintain, and control required EHS permits, records, regulatory submissions, and related documentation.
  • Monitor regulatory updates and support timely implementation of new or revised requirements

4. Training and Capability Building

  • Plan, coordinate, and deliver EHS training programs for employees and contractors.
  • Manage required EHS license and certification training to ensure legal and operational compliance.
  • Maintain accurate training records and ensure mandatory EHS competencies remain current.
  • Promote EHS awareness and reinforce a strong site safety culture

5. EHS Performance Monitoring and Reporting

  • Collect, maintain, and analyze EHS performance data, including leading and lagging indicators.
  • Prepare regular EHS reports, dashboards, and presentations for site leadership and management review.
  • Develop and track EHS improvement plans based on performance trends, audit findings, and risk assessments

6. Occupational Health and Industrial Hygiene

  • Monitor workplace environmental and occupational exposure factors, including chemical and noise exposure.
  • Coordinate industrial hygiene monitoring activities and ensure appropriate follow-up actions are completed.
  • Support actions to improve workplace conditions and reduce occupational health risks.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Occupational Safety, Health, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
  • Valid Taiwan Occupational Safety and Health certification: 職業安全衛生管理乙級證照.
  • Relevant years of EHS or safety management experience in a manufacturing environment, and leadership experiences in leading a team.
  • Familiarity with Taiwan occupational safety and health regulations and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Experience supporting or managing ISO 45001 EHS management systems and audits.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Good command of English in listening, speaking, reading, and writing; TOEIC score of 550 or above.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a multinational manufacturing environment.
  • Practical experience in contractor safety management, emergency response, fire protection, and LOTO programs.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at different levels of the organization.
