The Role

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Compliance Officer to support environmental permitting, compliance management and environmental workstreams across COP's offshore wind development portfolio in Taiwan.

Based in Taipei and reporting to the Consent & Development Director, you will play a key role in ensuring environmental requirements are effectively managed throughout project development. You will work closely with internal teams, environmental consultants, government authorities and key stakeholders to support regulatory compliance and successful project delivery.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include

  • Coordinate environmental studies, surveys and assessments required to support project development and permitting activities.
  • Support the management of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) processes, ensuring quality, consistency and timely delivery of submissions.
  • Review environmental reports, technical studies and consultant deliverables.
  • Monitor environmental permit conditions and compliance obligations, supporting implementation across project teams.
  • Assist in identifying environmental risks and opportunities and contribute to mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate environmental consultants and contribute to budget and schedule tracking.
  • Support communication and engagement with government authorities, regulators, environmental experts and key stakeholders.
  • Work closely with development, engineering, stakeholder engagement and commercial teams to ensure environmental requirements are integrated into project planning.
  • Maintain environmental records, compliance trackers and reporting tools.
  • Support environmental due diligence and other sustainability-related workstreams as required.

Your Experience

We are looking for a candidate with a strong environmental background and an interest in renewable energy and offshore wind development.

Essential

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in environmental science, Environmental Engineering, Ecology, Sustainability or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in environmental management, environmental consulting, EIA, permitting or infrastructure development.
  • Experience supporting or managing environmental studies and assessments.
  • Knowledge of Taiwan's environmental regulatory framework and permitting processes.
  • Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders and external consultants.
  • Strong analytical and project coordination skills.
  • Fluency in Mandarin and English, both written and spoken.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in international teams.

Preferred

  • Experience within offshore wind, renewable energy, marine infrastructure, power generation or large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Experience supporting Taiwan EIA processes
  • Experience working with environmental consultants, developers or government agencies.
  • Familiarity with international environmental and social standards.
  • Experience in biodiversity, marine ecology, fisheries, environmental monitoring or sustainability-related disciplines.
