UCT is looking for a talented Engineering Technician to join us in Taiwan, Republic of China!

Job Summary:

  • The Process Engineering Technician provides basic engineering support to chemical and mechanical cleaning operations under the direction of the site Process Engineering Manager. Assists with efforts in continuously improving yields, customer quality, document maintenance, process oversight, and training.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follows all EH&S standards, including proper use of personal protective equipment.
  • Alerts Supervisor of EH&S concerns to ensure unsafe conditions are documented and corrected.
  • Acts to ensure the facility is presentable to customers and other visitors.
  • Develops and maintains process documents, drawings, etc.
  • Maintains, evaluates, and assists in the design of production tooling (fixtures, baskets, etc.) required for efficient, effective part processing.
  • Monitors and maintains production equipment (tanks, pumps, heaters, etc.) and participates in equipment replacement and specification efforts.
  • Monitors effectiveness of production processes and supports problem resolution.
  • Monitors process materials (chemicals, powders, gases, blast media, etc.). Recommends changes as necessary.
  • Monitors process parameters (pressures, temperatures, concentration, contamination, etc.) and uses established databases to maintain logs, and generate reports and charts.
  • Maintains existing standard operating procedures and recommends revisions to improve productivity, effectiveness, and safety.
  • Executes designed experiments and work instructions to gather data for process changes and customer evaluations.
  • Assists in the development of training material and supports on the job training (OJT).

Other Duties

  • Participates in CAPA resolution, defect and failure analysis, costs and time studies, internal and external audits and preventative actions.
  • Participates in projects as assigned to improve systems, operations and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Other duties may be assigned and at the discretion of the Company.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrable understanding of production, engineering & quality initiatives and with safety & quality practices.
  • Able to complete assignments in a timely manner while adhering to deadlines and with a sense of urgency.
  • Familiarity with parts clean processing, semiconductor tool consumables, semiconductor technology, critical cleaning technology, coating technology, and engineering drawings.
  • High level troubleshooting skills coupled with hands-on approach to problem solving.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook and other software
  • Proficiency in related mathematical and scientific calculations including: proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume and other measurements.
  • Ability to understand and apply concepts and algorithms in algebra, geometry and engineering at a college level. Able to interpret instructions in written, oral or in diagram/schematic format.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with individuals at all levels, both within and outside the organization. Able to successfully prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

Educational/Certification Requirement:

  • High school diploma or GED

Work Experience Requirements:

  • 1+ years related experience in parts cleaning and coating technology, preferably in semiconductor manufacturing support or related industry.

Work Environment:

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push, pull and grasp.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to lift over 25 lbs. with assistance.
  • Ability to move arms, hands and fingers.
  • Ability to sit for sustained periods of time.
  • Ability to talk on the phone and use a computer for extended periods of time may be required.

Travel Requirements: Work may require out of town travel depending upon assignment (training and meeting).
