Job description
About the client:
Due to continued expansion, the world-leading of the major producer in the consumer electronics industry of the world has an opening for Engineering Manager (RF) based in Shenzhen.
The RF Engineering Manager will lead a team of specialist engineers to design, develop, and optimize wireless connectivity solutions for world-class high-fidelity audio products. You will be responsible for the entire RF lifecycle, from initial architecture and antenna design to regulatory certification and mass production support, ensuring seamless wireless performance in complex electromagnetic environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership & Architecture
- Define and oversee the RF architecture for new wireless audio products (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and proprietary protocols).
- Lead the design and integration of Antennas (Internal/PCB/Chip), ensuring optimal gain, radiation patterns, and efficiency within compact industrial designs.
- Conduct complex RF simulation and modeling (using tools like ADS or CST) to predict performance before physical prototyping.
- Oversee the development of RF Front-End (RFFE) circuits, including power amplifiers (PA), low-noise amplifiers (LNA), and filters.
- Team Management & Strategy
- Manage and mentor a team of RF/Hardware engineers, fostering technical growth and best practices in RF layout and debugging.
- Resource planning and project scheduling to meet tight Time-to-Market windows for global product launches.
- Establish internal RF Design Guidelines and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for testing and validation.
- Validation & Compliance
- Supervise EMI/EMC troubleshooting and ensure products comply with international standards (FCC, CE, IC, SRRC, MIC).
- Drive the validation process using Anechoic Chambers, Network Analyzers (VNA), and Spectrum Analyzers.
- Collaborate with third-party labs for official wireless certifications (BQB, Wi-Fi Alliance, etc.).
- Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Mechanical Engineers to optimize antenna placement within premium enclosures (e.g., wood, metal, or plastic).
- Liaise with the Firmware/Software team to optimize RF transceiver parameters and power consumption profiles.
- Support the manufacturing team in mainland China for RF Calibration and functional testing on the production line.
Technical Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience in RF design, with at least 3 years in a leadership/managerial role.
- Proven track record in Consumer Electronics, specifically wireless audio or IoT devices.
- Deep expertise in Bluetooth (LE & Classic) and Wi-Fi (6/6E/7) standards.
- Experience with Ultra-Low Latency wireless protocols and High-Resolution audio streaming is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of Impedance Matching, Smith Charts, and Signal Integrity.
- Tools: Proficient in Altium Designer/Allegro for RF layout, and simulation software like CST Studio Suite or Ansys HFSS.
