About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing development team specializing in secure authentication, biometric verification, and advanced digital identity solutions for governments, financial institutions, and global enterprises.
This role requires strong leadership and architectural oversight rather than hands-on coding. The ideal candidate will combine proven team management skills with deep knowledge of identity, biometrics, and security standards to drive technical excellence and delivery maturity. And the candidate shall be in a position to mentor the team to use AI for coding.
This role is key to strengthening the team's delivery discipline, architectural maturity, and technical roadmap execution as the organization scales.
Reporting to the VP of Digital Solutions, you will collaborate closely with Product Management, QA, Security, and Pre-Sales to drive alignment and execution.
Main Missions
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and grow a cross-functional engineering team.
- Establish best practices for software development, code quality, and predictable delivery.
- Foster a culture of ownership, autonomy, and accountability.
- Translate product requirements into technical designs and execution plans.
- Provide strategic technical guidance on biometric authentication, MFA, cryptography, and digital onboarding including KYC and KYB.
Delivery & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Ensure secure and reliable delivery of SDKs, APIs, and backend services.
- Align engineering execution with product roadmap, security requirements, and customer commitments.
- Collaborate with Product, Security, QA, and Pre-Sales teams to meet enterprise and government client needs.
- Represent technical leadership in key customer engagements
About You
You have :
- 5+ years in engineering leadership roles (e.g., Team Lead, Manager).
- Experience managing teams delivering authentication, security, identity verification, or biometric-related software.
- Strong understanding of MFA/2FA, AI applied to biometric algorithms and more particular face match, cryptography, and secure mobile SDKs.
- Familiarity with standards such as:
- FIDO2 / WebAuthn
- ISO/IEC 30106 / 19794 (biometrics)
- OAuth2 / OpenID Connect / OIDC4VC
- Proven ability to manage mid-sized engineering teams (8–20 people).
- Fluent in English and Chinese
Nice-to-Have
- Experience with PCI-DSS, ISO/IEC 27001, or regulated payment environments.
- Knowledge of PSD2/PSD3, risk-based authentication, or financial compliance.
- Exposure to verifiable credentials, identity wallets, or selective disclosure.
- Experience with cross-border teams and government tenders.
