Role Description
Working in the EMERGE Global Acceleration team, you will be responsible to mentor cohort company founders in the running programmes.
You will work closely with the EMERGE Consultants, Community Growth Managers, Programme Community Managers, Producers and Operations team to manage effective communications with community members.
Mentors are allocated to companies and can select engagements with companies from the following work tasks.
EMERGE PREMIUM Engagements (Training, Acceleration – Small and Medium Technology Enterprises)
Shortlisting Phase
- Advisory Service
- Understanding company needs
- Provide insights and challenges
- Promotes EMERGE and advise companies to join our upcoming programme
- Shortlist Companies
- Shortlisting companies registered on running EMERGE Programmes by reviewing, analysing and providing scores with additional notes.
Deployment Phase
- Academy (1 hour per session)
- Present the current trends, benefits and challenges or other interesting topics related to EMERGE themes. (Eg. Deeptech, Fintech, Medtech, etc.)
- Market Readiness Assessment and TRL Assessment (4 hours per company)
- Complete prepared assessment questionnaire for assigned cohort companies
- Give guidance to assigned Cohort Companies – Local Pitch Jury, Business Matching, POC Development, Demo Days/Site Visit (10 hours per month / company)
- Giving deep overseas market knowledge
- Review pitch decks and give advice
- Attend Pitches, Demo Days, Proof of Concept Sessions and other site visits to provide suggestions and insights
- Connect cohort companies to Programme Community Manager for any programme issues, e.g. schedule, paperwork, programme fees, application forms.
- Provide all updates on Mentoring Log
EMERGE ONE2ONE & DIRECT Engagements (Business Matching & Partnership – Medium and Large Technology Enterprises)
- Phase 1 : Researching (2 hours per assigned company)
- Working with EMERGE Consultant and using EMERGE database to research on:
- Competitors to cohort member in overseas market
- Advise cohort on review and Best-Specs comparison with competitors
- Market analysis Business leads identification
- Phase 2 : Connecting (3 hours per assigned company)
- Working with Programme Community Managers for
- Business matching arrangements
- Supporting and attending meetings
- Keeping status and meeting notes updated on CRM platform
- Advising on deals
- Phase 3 : Closing (as required)
- Work with Operations Executive for:
- Contract preparations
- Legal support
- Follow-up with Partner

Personality Qualities
All Mojo team members are 21st century leaders
- 15+ years in related startup or entrepreneurial activities for Deeptech/UX/Media/Marketing/Strategy project design/management work experience in one of key verticals (Consumer Electronics, Education, Internet, IT).
- Wide business network in EMERGE technology and market focus areas.
- Proficiency in English, Mandarin and/or Japanese
