Key Responsibilities

  • Signal Integrity (SI) Validation Electrical Compliance
  • Margin measurement on CPU interlinks, memory modules and PCIe devices
  • Perform electrical validation of highspeed interfaces, including:
    • PCIe Gen4/Gen5/Gen6
    • DDR4 / DDR5
    • USB 3.x / TypeC
    • Ethernet (1/10/25/100G)
    • SATA / SAS / NVMe
  • Conduct compliance and margin tests according to industry standards (PCISIG, JEDEC, USBIF, IEEE).
  • Capture and analyze SI measurements such as:
    • Eye diagram
    • Jitter analysis
    • Channel loss
    • Reflections / impedance evaluation
  • Validate electrical behavior of server motherboards and addin cards.
  • Test Planning Execution
  • Review specifications, schematics, and layout constraints to derive electrical validation requirements.
  • Develop test cases, validation SOPs, and measurement setups.
  • Ensure test coverage for Tx/Rx performance, equalization tuning, margining, and link stability.
  • Debug Root Cause Analysis
  • Investigate SI issues across platform bringup and validation stages.
  • Perform preliminary root cause analysis using lab instruments and collaborate with design teams for fixes.
  • Support signal path debugging at board, connector, and channel level.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration
  • Work alongside Electrical Design, SI/PI Engineering, BIOS/FW teams, Mechanical Engineering, and ODM partners.
  • Provide validation insights during design reviews and platform readiness checkpoints.
  • Lab Operation Equipment Handling
  • Operate and maintain SI and electrical validation instruments, including:
    • Highbandwidth oscilloscopes
    • VNA / TDR
    • BERT / BERTScope
    • Power analyzers / PPG
  • Ensure measurement environments meet accuracy and safety standards.
  • Documentation Reporting
  • Produce clear documentation on test results, waveform analysis, compliance conclusions, and recommendations.
  • Track issues through closure and maintain detailed engineering reports.
Position Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent.

Experience

  • 5 years experience in electrical validation, signal integrity testing, or hardware bringup.
  • Experience with Intel/AMD server or x86 platform is strongly preferred.
  • Hands-on measurement experience with highspeed signaling interfaces.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency with oscilloscopes, VNA, TDR, BERT, PPG, and related SI tools.
  • Understanding of highspeed channel behavior, equalization, eye diagrams, and jitter.
  • Familiar with compliance standards such as PCISIG, JEDEC, USBIF, IEEE.
  • Basic scripting (Python, MATLAB) is a plus.

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting capability.
  • Clear communication and effective cross-team collaboration.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple validation tasks.
