Your Work Context

Jan De Nul Group offers specialised services for the installation of offshore structures for the renewable energy markets. Submarine cable installation and burial, wind turbine hook-up as well as complete onshore and offshore high voltage substations and related O&M activities are part of the offered services. Everything is always tailored to the needs of the client and on an EPC-basis if required. Do you want to be part of our international team

Your Role

As an Electrical Engineer, you'll become part of a department which is responsible for LV (low voltage) and HV (high voltage) design, integration and commissioning of electrical installations on offshore projects. In your role as Electrical Engineer, you will report back to the responsible package manager, and you will coordinate with other internal (external) stakeholders to secure inputs on time.

Your main tasks and responsibilities:

  • You will identify and manage interfaces with regards to the electrical part of projects.
  • You will prepare technical specifications, lists and calculations for LV and HV and utility components.
  • You will participate in project team meetings and cross-disciplinary cooperation, support supervision and activities.
  • Coordinate works, suppliers and subcontractors, whilst maintaining operational control. Report on the progress and completion of these works. Procure the necessary materials and services needed for these works.
  • Engineer the work execution methodology, working closely together with the direct colleagues, JDN's competence centres and specialists.

Within the Electrical Department, the above may be applied to works related to

  • Submarine (high voltage) cable termination and testing
  • Fibre optic works and testing
  • Low voltage systems such as CCTV, structural monitoring, radar systems, navigation aids, data networks
  • Interfacing with the wind turbine generators
  • Overall project completion

What do you need to have

You have a bachelor or master degree in electrical engineering and are interested in working with the electrical aspect of wind farms. You have at least 3 years of relevant experience.

You speak and write fluently in English and Mandarin. You have an international mindset, able to work in cross-disciplinary teams and cooperate with colleagues and external business partners. You have a strong analytical approach, enabling you to handle a range of complex tasks quickly.
