And we're looking for someone to help us build them.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a hands-on technical product development leader to build the next generation of Gizmospring's engineering capability.
This is not a role where you'll inherit a large engineering department and simply manage what already exists.
We want someone who is excited to build capabilities we don't yet have.
Your mission:
Enable Gizmospring to confidently take on increasingly difficult, differentiated, and technology-driven hardware products.
You'll help answer questions like:
- What's the right technical architecture
- What should we build internally vs. outsource
- How should electronics, firmware, mechanical engineering, sensors, software, and AI work together
- What emerging technologies can create meaningful product differentiation
- How do we turn something that initially appears impossible into something technically achievable and manufacturable
What You'll Own
Technical Product Architecture
- Lead system-level architecture for complex physical products
- Translate product requirements into viable technical solutions
- Evaluate feasibility, risks, trade-offs, and alternative approaches
- Lead technical design reviews
Electronics & Embedded Systems
- Build and strengthen our internal electronics capability
- Guide PCB, embedded electronics, firmware, and system integration
- Develop appropriate tools, processes, lab capabilities, and engineering standards
- Build a roadmap for future electronics and firmware resources

You don't need to be an expert in everything. We care more about your ability to understand systems, learn quickly, identify the right expertise, and turn emerging technologies into viable products.
Capability Building
- Assess our technical strengths and gaps
- Develop a 12–24 month technical capability roadmap
- Mentor engineers and elevate systems-level thinking
- Determine what to build internally vs. outsource
- Identify future technical talent and investment requirements
- Build reusable architectures, platforms, and institutional knowledge
Initially, we expect this role to be highly hands-on.
Leadership here will be earned through technical contribution and impact—not organizational hierarchy.
What We're Looking For
Required
- 10+ years of relevant engineering/product development experience
- Strong background in electronics engineering, embedded systems, firmware, systems engineering, or related hardware disciplines
- Experience taking physical products from concept through production
- Strong systems architecture and cross-disciplinary engineering capability
- Experience working with mechanical engineering and industrial design
- Understanding of DFM, NPI, testing, validation, and mass production
- Strong technical problem-solving ability
- Experience working with suppliers, manufacturers, and external engineering partners
- Strong English communication
- Comfortable operating entrepreneurially with incomplete information and limited resources
Strongly Preferred
- Built an electronics, firmware, engineering team, or technical capability from the ground up
- Experience mentoring technical talent
- Connected products, IoT, sensing, medical devices, consumer electronics, robotics, or smart hardware experience
- Software/AI + physical product integration experience
- Taiwan / Greater China manufacturing experience
- Certification and regulatory experience
- Reusable product platform or architecture experience

Depending on experience, the successful candidate may join as:
Director of Technical Product Development or Senior Technical Product Development Lead
