The Opportunity
Ascott Nangang Taipei is a 185-key, full-service hotel / residence strategically located in the heart of Nangang, adjacent to the Nangang Exhibition Center and connected to the Lalaport shopping mall.
We are seeking a Director of Sales & Marketing to lead topline performance, strengthen market positioning, and drive sustainable revenue growth across key segments. This role is critical to shaping the property's commercial strategy and deepening partnerships with corporate, MICE, and long-stay clients in both Taiwan and international market.
Key Responsibilities
1. Commercial Strategy & Revenue Growth
- Develop and execute the property-level sales, marketing, and distribution strategy in alignment with brand guidelines and owner objectives.
- Drive topline performance across corporate, MICE, long-stay, and transient segments, with clear demand segmentation and channel optimisation.
- Identify new business opportunities, partnerships, and revenue streams, leveraging the property's unique location and connectivity.
2. Sales Leadership & Market Engagement
- Lead and manage on-property sales team. Set clear targets, account strategies, and performance expectations.
- Actively engage key accounts, corporate partners, travel management companies, and event organisers.
- Represent property in sales calls, industry events, trade shows, and client engagements.
3. Marketing & Brand Positioning
- Lead the execution of marketing initiatives across digital, PR, loyalty, and brand campaigns in collaboration with Ascott's central marketing teams.
- Ensure consistent brand positioning and messaging across all customer touchpoints.
- Drive visibility and awareness for the property within the competitive Taipei market, particularly for business and MICE demand.
4. Stakeholder & Owner Collaboration
- Work closely with the General Manager and owner to align commercial priorities, budgets, forecasts, and performance reviews.
- Collaborate with Ascott's corporate and franchise support teams on revenue management, distribution, loyalty, and marketing initiatives.
5. Market Intelligence & Performance Management
- Monitor market trends, competitor performance, and pricing dynamics to inform strategy and decision-making.
- Track and analyse sales performance, pipeline health, and conversion metrics, adjusting strategies where necessary.
- Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and business planning processes from a commercial perspective.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 810 years of experience in hospitality sales & marketing, with at least 35 years in a senior commercial leadership role.
- Strong understanding of the Taiwan hospitality market, including corporate, MICE, and extended-stay segments.
- Proven ability to drive topline growth and lead sales teams in competitive urban markets.
- Experience working with franchise owners, asset-light operators, or multi-stakeholder environments is highly preferred.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate market insights into actionable strategies.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-management skills.
- Fluent in Mandarin and English (written and spoken).
