Job Description

Job Summary:

The Operations Director will oversee HPCBU's core business operations across Asia, including sourcing, cost analysis, quotation management, budget & forecast control, monthly entity reviews, gross margin and EBITA monitoring, and payment- related matters.

The successful candidate will combine the structured problem-solving & analytical capabilities of a consulting background with practical experience in a manufacturing environment. The role requires travel to manufacturing sites to identify issues firsthand, work with local teams on solutions, and provide clear findings and strategic recommendations to the BU Head.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead and coordinate HPCBU's general business operations across Asia, including Sourcing, Quotation, Manufacturing, Finance and Forecast-Management functions. Act as an escalation point for critical operational issues.

2. Oversee Asia plant operations, review existing operational processes and implement scalable standards, governance mechanisms, and decision-making frameworks, ensuring objectives and timelines are met.

3. Serve as a key advisor to the HPCBU head by developing management dashboards and reporting tools to provide timely visibility into backlog, demand, capacity, profitability, and working capital.

4. Conduct frequent factory visits to identify operational and financial issues, lead structured root-cause analysis, and ensure sustainable corrective actions are implemented.

5. Coordinate demand, capacity, material, and financial planning to identify potential supply constraints, excess inventory, revenue risks, and resource requirements.

6. Monitor customer and supplier payment status, payment terms, overdue items, and other working-capital risks in coordination with Finance, Sales, and Supply Chain.

7. Lead, coach, and develop the sourcing, quotation, forecast-management, and related business-operations teams.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.

2. Minimum 10 years in operations management (electronics or technology manufacturing preferred).

3. Previous experience in consulting or business transformation.

4. Strong leadership with experience managing teams and working across multiple factories.

5. Strong financial acumen, with a practical understanding of manufacturing cost structures, BOM cost, gross margin, EBITA, supplier pricing, payment terms, and quotation economics.

6. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguity-rich environment. Willingness to travel extensively across Asia for regular onsite factory reviews and issue resolution.

7. Fluent English; Mandarin Chinese is strongly preferred.

Skills:

1. Strong structured problem-solving and analytical capability. Able to identify root causes onsite and convert findings into practical actions.

2. Strong stakeholder-management and influencing skills across factories and functions.

3. Clear executive communication and reporting skills.

4. Strong Excel, financial modelling, data analysis and management-presentation skills.

5. High ownership, execution discipline, and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience at a recognized management-consulting firm.

2. Experience in data-center, server, networking, cable assembly, connector, optical, semiconductor, or electronic-component industries.

3. Experience with FP&A, cost accounting, S&OP, ERP, or business-intelligence systems.

4. Experience supporting manufacturing operations across China, Taiwan, and Southeast Asia.
