The Job
Report to Head of Financial Crime Risk and assume the following duties and responsibilities:
Assume the role of Money Laundering Reporting Officer delegate (MLRO delegate) to serve as the supporting role of key reference point for suspicious transaction reporting in the company.
Support for the Anti‑Money Laundering (AML) and Counter‑Terrorist Financing (CTF) function under delegated authority.
Manage and provide oversight to the FCC function, ensuring effective day‑to‑day FCC operations, quality advisory support, and timely issue escalation.
Provide FCC advisory to business units and functional stakeholders on AML/CFT, sanctions, fraud, ABC, FATCA/CRS and related financial crime matters.
Support and deliver compliance transformation initiatives, system enhancements and process improvement projects in line with Group and local requirements.
Participate in the annual compliance cycle, including risk assessments, compliance monitoring, testing activities and remediation tracking.
Assist in the preparation, review and maintenance of training, STR handling and alert managements to ensure alignment with latest regulatory and business developments.
Support regulatory inspections, internal audits and compliance assurance reviews, including preparation of materials and coordination of responses.
Coach and guide team members and contribute to capability development within the FCC team.
The Person
Bachelor's degree in law, business or finance
Previous experience in a senior role in insurance companies or banks is highly preferrable
Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in insurance, financial services industry or regulatory bodies in legal, compliance, management, or internal control functions is highly preferrable
Hands-on experience in AML systems, control designs, regulatory submission is an advantage
Hands-on experience in EDD, FATCA/CRS, Sanctions advisory work and knowledge in Bermuda and other countries regulations are an advantage
Professional qualifications in financial crime risk is an asset
Sound understanding of insurance regulatory and financial crime frameworks
Practical knowledge of applicable AML/CFT, sanctions, ABC and related regulatory requirements
Experience in compliance risk assessments, monitoring programmes, issue remediation and policy development
Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into practical business guidance
