RESPONSIBILITIES

The Director, Eldercare provides strategic, operational, and practice leadership across Montfort Care's eldercare pillar (including Goodlife at Home, Goodlife Makan, Goodlife Studios, and other new initiatives). Overseeing a team of 100 staff in Goodlife and collaborating with the Goodlife Middle Office, the Director will drive service excellence, lead expansion through competitive tenders (RFPs) and new funding streams, and strengthen social-health integration with government agencies, healthcare clusters, and community partners.

Strategic and Operational Leadership

  • Service Oversight: Lead and direct Montfort Care's eldercare services, including Goodlife at Home, Goodlife Makan, Goodlife Studios, ICCP, and future service expansions.
  • Growth & Tenders: Drive the end-to-end preparation, writing, and submission of Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and tenders for new Active Ageing Centres (AACs), community sites, and pilot services.
  • Strategic Alignment: Set the operational direction for eldercare programmes to ensure alignment with organisational priorities, community needs, and evolving sector landscapes.
  • Operational Readiness: Oversee day-to-day operations, service standards, manpower planning, centre readiness, and smooth setup of new facilities to deliver high-quality, client-centred outcomes.

Sector Engagement, Partnership and Stakeholder Management

  • Ecosystem Relationships: Build and maintain strong partnerships with ministry partners (MOH, AIC), funders, healthcare institutions, and sector stakeholders to advance integrated community care.
  • Sector Representation: Represent Montfort Care in official meetings, inter-agency workgroups, sector reviews, and public engagements.
  • Stakeholder Governance: Manage partner expectations professionally, ensuring timely follow-up on commitments and alignment on joint active ageing and caregiver support initiatives.

Service Innovation and Sector Development

  • Progressive Care Models: Spearhead innovative, person-centred programmes that move beyond traditional models to enhance seniors independence, dignity, purpose, and social connection.
  • Cross-Pillar Synergy: Collaborate across Montfort Care's service pillars (e.g., mental health, family services, caregiving, anti-violence) to address emerging care gaps for seniors and caregivers.
  • Culture of Innovation: Foster an experimental mindset across teams to continuously test, refine, and scale impact-driven service models.

Team Leadership and Staff Engagement

  • People Leadership: Direct and mentor team leaders to build a resilient and mission-driven culture.
  • Capability Building: Provide hands-on leadership during site expansions and operational shifts, equipping staff to meet the evolving needs of seniors and caregivers.
  • Organisational Alignment: Strengthen staff engagement, accountability, morale, and deep alignment with Montfort Care's vision and core values.

Programme Quality and Governance

  • Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure all eldercare services meet regulatory, funding, compliance, and quality framework requirements.
  • Risk & Performance Management: Monitor centre performance, service outcomes, budget utilisation, and operational risks through systematic reviews.
  • Data-Informed Improvement: Partner with the Middle Office to strengthen workflows, data tracking, and service evaluations, leveraging community feedback and audits for continuous improvement.

Financial Management

  • Fiscal Sustainability: Oversee financial governance and budget optimisation across the pillar to ensure high accountability, resource efficiency, and long-term funding and service sustainability.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Degree in Social Work, Gerontology, Psychology, Counselling, Healthcare, Nursing, Allied Health, Social Sciences, Community Development, Public Health, Business, or related discipline.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in gerontology, social service leadership, public health, healthcare management, or organisational leadership would be advantageous.

Relevant Experience

  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in the social service, healthcare, or eldercare sectors, with at least 3-5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing sizable teams (50+ headcount).
  • Prior leadership experience in an Active Ageing Centre, Senior Activity Centre, community care service, social service agency, or healthcare-linked community programme.
  • Experience in centre setup, programme expansion, service transformation, or operations scaling would be highly advantageous.
  • Exposure to cross-sector work involving seniors, caregivers, families, mental health, or community support.
  • Experience working with government agencies, funders, healthcare partners, and community stakeholders, preferably with exposure to AIC.
  • Good understanding of the broader social service landscape, preferably with exposure to other service pillars such as caregiving, mental health, family services, or community support.
