An international clinical research organization is seeking a Director of Clinical Development to support business growth and strategic client partnerships across the Asia-Pacific region.

This position is ideal for an experienced clinical research professional who enjoys working directly with sponsors and wants to leverage their clinical operations expertise in a more commercially focused, client-facing environment.

The Opportunity

This role sits within the Business Development function and serves as a key link between sponsor clients and internal operational teams. The successful candidate will support proposal development, participate in bid defense meetings, contribute to RFP strategy, and help drive growth through strong client engagement and account development activities.

Rather than a traditional sales position, this role focuses on applying clinical trial expertise to support client relationships, solution development, and business growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in sponsor meetings, bid defense presentations, and strategic client discussions
• Support the preparation and management of Request for Proposal (RFP) responses
• Collaborate with Clinical Operations, Medical, Proposal, and Business Development teams during the pre-award process
• Provide operational and strategic input on study feasibility, timelines, and delivery approaches
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with sponsor stakeholders
• Identify opportunities to expand and grow existing client partnerships
• Coordinate proposal timelines and cross-functional contributions to ensure successful submissions
• Attend industry conferences and client meetings across the region

Ideal Background

• Degree in Life Sciences or a related scientific discipline
• Clinical research experience gained within a CRO, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or related environment
• Strong background in Clinical Operations, Project Management, or Clinical Trial Delivery
• Experience participating in Bid Defense meetings and supporting proposal/RFP development
• Comfortable engaging directly with sponsor clients and senior stakeholders
• Strong communication, presentation, and relationship management skills
• Strategic mindset with an interest in business growth and client development

Preferred Candidate Profile
