Job Description

Position Responsibilities:

  • Own overall DBS submission governance framework.

  • Establish submission standards, policies and operating procedures.

  • Serve as senior escalation point for complex or high-ris k cases.

  • Engage with senior stakeholders across Business, FCC and DBS.

  • Monitor performance metrics, trends and quality standards.

  • Lead periodic reviews and enhancement initiatives.

  • Lead regular governance meetings.

  • Drive resolution of systemic issues and recurring deficiencies.

  • Ensure alignment of expectations and risk appetite.

  • Review quality assurance results.

  • Track SLA performance.

  • Prepare management reporting and governance updates.

  • Recommend process enhancements and resource requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • Detail-oriented, motivated, creative problem solver, and an independent thinker

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent (background in investment management, finance, law, operations, or audit)

  • 8+ years as a compliance/law/audit professional, with at a minimum 5 years administering/supporting a compliance program

  • Excellent skills in using spreadsheets and working with electronic databases to manage FATCA data (e.g. MFC legal entities, reporting files to tax authorities)

  • Proven technical proficiency in Excel, Microsoft access, etc.

  • Advanced understanding of regulations

  • Ability to manage highly complex compliance matters with minimal supervision

  • Excellent interpersonal skills who can interact with employees of all levels and operate well in a collegial insurance company working environment

  • Experience interacting with regulators, auditors, and fund service providers

  • Ability to anticipate, monitor and manage compliance risks

  • Ability to analyze industry regulations adapt and develop policy and procedures to meet compliance requirements

  • Strong project management skills with an ability to understand business and IS processes and their risk implications, analyze complex situations, reach appropriate conclusions and make value-added and practical recommendations

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
