The Deputy Director, Branding & Communications leads the strategic development and execution of branding, communications, marketing, and media engagement initiatives.
Reporting to senior leadership, this role oversees corporate communications, brand positioning, media relations, stakeholder engagement, marketing communications, and high-profile events. The incumbent collaborates closely with internal business units, leadership teams, and external stakeholders to strengthen organisational visibility, reputation, and strategic positioning.
The role is also responsible for overseeing executive communications, editorial content, digital and social media strategy, and strategic communications initiatives, while leading the Marketing Communications team to deliver consistent, high-quality communications across the organisation.
Develop and implement integrated branding, communications, media relations, and marketing strategies aligned with organisational objectives.
Lead corporate communications, stakeholder engagement, reputation management, and high-profile events.
Manage executive communications, speeches, messaging, editorial content, and thought leadership initiatives.
Oversee digital communications, social media platforms, and content strategy to strengthen audience engagement and brand visibility.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership, media, and strategic partners.
Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent messaging and effective communications across the organisation.
Lead, mentor, and develop the Marketing Communications team, fostering a high-performing and collaborative culture.
Provide strategic communications counsel to senior leadership, including reputation risk assessment and communications planning.
Drive innovation by leveraging digital platforms, AI-enabled tools, automation, and communications analytics to enhance engagement and operational effectiveness.
Manage multiple strategic initiatives simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality execution.
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, Media, or a related discipline.
Minimum 15 years of experience in communications, branding, marketing, or corporate affairs.
Demonstrated experience in strategic communications, media relations, stakeholder engagement, and corporate branding.
Proven leadership experience managing communications or marketing teams.
Strong stakeholder management, influencing, and project management capabilities.
Experience supporting executive leadership communications and strategic messaging.
Knowledge of digital marketing, social media strategy, communications analytics, and emerging technologies.
Experience within large, complex organisations is an advantage.
Ability to identify reputational risks and provide strategic communications advice.
