Job Description

Role Summary

The Data Migration Lead is responsible for defining, planning, managing, and executing end-to-end data migration activities for Temenos Transact (T24) Core Banking transformation program.

The role leads the migration strategy, data assessment, mapping, cleansing, conversion, reconciliation, testing, and cutover activities to ensure accurate and complete migration of customer, account, loan, payment, and transaction data from legacy systems into Temenos Core Banking.

The role involves migration of products from Transact LD module to Transact AA module.

The Data Migration Lead works closely with Business SMEs, Solution Architects, Integration Teams, Testing Teams, and Business Users to ensure the successful delivery of data migration objectives with minimal business disruption.

Key Responsibilities

Data Migration Strategy & Planning

  • Define and own the overall Data Migration Strategy and Roadmap.
  • Develop data migration plans, scope, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Establish migration governance, quality controls, and approval processes.
  • Define migration waves, rehearsal cycles, and cutover approaches.
  • Identify migration risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans.
  • Coordinate migration activities across multiple countries, entities, and business units.

Data Assessment & Analysis

  • Analyze source system data structures and business processes.
  • Conduct data profiling and data quality assessments.
  • Identify data gaps, inconsistencies, and cleansing requirements.
  • Evaluate legacy system complexities and dependencies.
  • Define source-to-target migration scope.

Data Mapping & Transformation

  • Define source-to-target data mapping specifications.
  • Review and validate mapping rules with business stakeholders.
  • Design data transformation logic.
  • Manage reference data, code conversions, and enrichment rules.
  • Ensure alignment with Temenos data model and product setup requirements.
  • Collaborate with Functional Teams to resolve data interpretation issues.

Data Quality & Cleansing

  • Define data quality standards and thresholds.
  • Lead data cleansing activities with business stakeholders.
  • Identify duplicate, incomplete, and inaccurate records.
  • Establish remediation plans for data quality issues.
  • Govern ongoing quality controls throughout migration cycles.

Migration Development & Execution

  • Oversee development of migration scripts and ETL processes.
  • Coordinate extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) activities.
  • Validate migration tool outputs.
  • Manage migration environments and execution schedules.
  • Ensure migration performance meets cutover requirements.

Data Reconciliation & Validation

  • Define reconciliation strategy and controls.
  • Ensure completeness, accuracy, and integrity of migrated data.
  • Establish automated reconciliation processes where possible.
  • Review migration exceptions and resolution activities.
  • Obtain business validation and sign-offs.

Migration Testing

Lead all migration-related testing activities:

Unit Testing

  • Migration scripts validation
  • Transformation logic testing

System Integration Testing (SIT)

  • Data validation after load
  • Interface data verification

User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

  • Business validation of migrated data
  • Customer and product verification

Mock Conversions

  • Trial migration cycles
  • Dress rehearsals
  • Volume testing

Production Readiness Testing

  • Final migration certification
  • Cutover readiness validation

Cutover Planning & Go-Live Support

  • Develop migration cutover strategy.
  • Lead migration rehearsals and mock runs.
  • Define rollback and contingency procedures.
  • Coordinate with application and infrastructure teams during cutover.
  • Manage execution of production migration activities.
  • Support hypercare and production stabilization.

Required Skills & Experience

Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in Banking Technology and Data Migration.
  • 5+ years leading large-scale core banking migration projects.
  • Proven experience in Temenos Transact (T24) implementation, upgrade, or migration programs.
  • Knowledge of migration of products from Transact LD module to AA module
  • Experience with multi-country and multi-entity banking migrations.
  • Strong understanding of banking data structures and business processes.
