Job Description

We're looking for a senior, hands-on Data Analyst to join our Operations team. This role goes beyond reporting, you will own our BI function end-to-end, from building production-grade dashboards and data pipelines to serving as the primary technical point of contact for stakeholders across Client Operations, Finance, and leadership. The ideal candidate brings deep SQL expertise, strong BI platform experience, and a stakeholder-first mindset that turns complex data into clear decisions.

Key Responsibilities

BI Development & Reporting

  • Design and build production-grade dashboards and reports that translate business and campaign performance requirements into actionable insights.
  • Own end-to-end reporting workflows: requirement gathering, data modeling, validation, and delivery.
  • Build and maintain data transformation layers to ensure reliable, consistent reporting across platforms.
  • Develop self-service analytics capabilities that reduce ad hoc reporting load and empower internal teams.

Data Monitoring & Analytics

  • Monitor and analyze campaign performance across multiple platforms to identify trends, anomalies, and optimization opportunities.
  • Summarize findings into clear, prioritized recommendations for both internal teams and external clients.
  • Present performance updates and insights to stakeholders and senior leadership with clear, compelling narratives.

Data Engineering & Technical Execution

  • Independently query data from multiple sources including relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL), NoSQL databases (Elasticsearch DSL), and APIs.
  • Build, maintain, and monitor scheduled data pipelines (ETL), ensuring data accuracy and reliability.
  • Use AI tools to assist with code generation in JavaScript, Python, or similar languages.
  • Leverage low-code platforms (e.g., Retool) for reporting and process automation.

Queue Management & Prioritization

  • Triage and prioritize incoming analytics requests based on business impact, urgency, and strategic alignment.
  • Maintain and communicate backlog status, blockers, and trade-offs to stakeholders.
  • Manage SLAs and proactively surface risks before they become issues.

Stakeholder Communication & Partnership

  • Act as the primary BI contact for cross-functional stakeholders across Operations, Client Success, and Finance.
  • Gather requirements from non-technical stakeholders and translate them into clear technical specifications.
  • Manage expectations, push back when needed, and negotiate priorities across competing demands.

  • Proactive communicator: You keep stakeholders informed without being asked, surface risks early, and can explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Systems thinker: When faced with a request, you ask am I building a one-off or a system and default to scalable, reusable solutions.
  • Bias for action: You ship v1 quickly, gather feedback, and iterate knowing when to optimize for speed vs. perfection.

Required Experience & Skills

  • 35 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a related field, ideally at a SaaS or technology company.
  • Expert SQL skills: complex queries, joins, aggregations, window functions, and query optimization.
  • Working Python knowledge: able to write, read, and maintain scripts for data processing and pipeline automation; comfortable leveraging AI tools to accelerate Python development (full proficiency not required).
  • Foundational statistics knowledge: understanding of A/B testing principles, significance testing, confidence intervals, and the ability to validate experiment results.
  • Hands-on experience with BI or data visualization platforms (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Metabase, Retool, or similar).
  • Proven ability to build and maintain ETL pipelines and data transformation logic.
  • Strong stakeholder management: gathering requirements, managing expectations, and communicating with senior leaders.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Operations, Finance, or Client-facing teams.

Preferred (Nice to Have)

  • Familiarity with low-code platforms such as Retool for reporting and automation.
  • Experience with SaaS metrics, campaign performance analytics, or digital marketing data.
  • Familiarity with project management or collaboration tools (e.g., Monday.com, Notion).
