Job Description

We are looking for a crewing associate/assistant manager for one of our global shipping clients. In this role, you will serve as the owner's representative for all crew. You will shape and implement Marine HR policies, lead crew briefings, champion safety culture and welfare initiatives, and oversee the performance of ship managers and manning agents.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in formulating, and implementing strategic initiatives aligned with the company's Marine HR objectives.
  • Support to embed a strong safety culture across the organization, in line with the company's core vision and values.
  • Support safe and reliable operations while contributing to cost-effective crew management practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve Marine HR department goals.
  • Coordinate with in-house ship management crewing departments and external manning agents on all crewing matters.
  • Schedule and organize interviews, crew briefings, and liaise with relevant departments.
  • Maintain accurate crew records and key performance data.
  • Assist the Marine HR Leader with projects, strategic initiatives, and ad-hoc assignments.
  • Support and oversee crew welfare programs and initiatives.
  • Track and monitor performance evaluations for senior officers.
  • Analyse crew retention trends and recommend improvement strategies.
  • Prepare and generate reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) initiatives related to crew welfare and diversity.
  • Any other task assigned by the Leader, Marine HR and/or Head of Department, Technical & Optimization Department.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree and/or Diploma in Human Resources, Maritime Studies, Business Administration, or related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in HR or crewing within the maritime/shipping industry preferred
  • Knowledge of international maritime regulations (e.g., STCW, MLC) and crew management practices is a plus
