Job Description

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Draft and review contracts, including internal templates, with a focus on retail, distribution, e-commerce, licensing and marketing, in accordance with internal guidelines and policies.
  • Localization and implementation of Group's compliance programs and protocols.
  • Organize and file contracts, court filings, and other legal documents.
  • Coordinate and manage any potential litigation or regulatory action
  • Conduct legal research and render legal advice regarding operational, commercial and general corporate matters under guidance.
  • Support affiliates in the APAC region and overseas with contract reviews and other legal requirements as needed.

Requirements and Qualifications:

Experience:

  • 47 years of legal work experience in an in-house legal department of a multinational corporation, preferably within the ANZ region.
  • Experience with a consumer brand, especially in the consumer durable industry, is a plus.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Attention to detail, self-motivator, self-starter and with strong business sense.
  • Outstanding listening and communication skills; adept at communicating contract concepts and legal terminology and information, both verbally and in writing, to legal and non-legal audience.
  • Effective analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Team orientation with strong integrity and professionalism.
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with all levels of management and staff.
  • Ability to remain poised under pressure; adaptability in changing/challenging situations.
  • Open-minded, embracing culture differences and team spirit and yet able to work independently.

Others:

  • Professional proficiency in Mandarin Chinese and English is a must.
  • A license to practice laws in Australia or New Zealand is a plus.
