The Corporate Communications Manager will play a key role in shaping and strengthening dentsu's corporate reputation by communicating our key messages, achievements, thought leadership, perspectives and points of view to external audiences.
This is a highly external-facing role requiring strong media relations experience, sound professional judgment, and the confidence to represent the organization with discretion. The ideal candidate brings a solid PR background, strong hands-on execution capabilities, and the potential to grow into a more strategic communications role.
Key Accountabilities
- Partner with the Head of Marketing & Communications to develop external communications strategies aligned with dentsu's business priorities and strategic direction.
- Develop and execute corporate communications, public relations and media relations plans that strengthen dentsu's brand visibility and reputation.
- Create high-quality external communications materials, including press releases, media statements, corporate announcements, thought leadership articles and executive messaging.
- Identify relevant news angles and proactively pitch stories that position dentsu, its senior leaders and industry experts as thought leaders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, editors, media outlets and other key external stakeholders.
- Manage media enquiries and interview requests, including preparing spokespeople, coordinating interviews and overseeing follow-up communications.
- Organize press conferences, media briefings, interviews and other external communications activities.
- Prepare briefing materials such as key messages, Q&As, talking points, background information and executive briefing books.
- Support social media communications that reinforce external communications objectives and corporate positioning.
- Monitor media coverage, industry developments and public issues to identify communications opportunities and potential reputational risks.
- Support issues management and crisis communications by developing timely, accurate and aligned responses.
- Collaborate with internal teams to translate business developments, expertise and achievements into compelling external stories.
Requirements
- At least five(5) years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, media relations or a related field.
- Previous experience in a PR or communications agency is required.
- Experience operating at Manager level, or demonstrated ability to independently manage communications projects and external stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of media relations, news angles, story pitching and the local media landscape.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Mandarin.
- Strong writing and editing capabilities, with experience developing press releases, media pitches, executive briefings, talking points and other external communications content.
- Sound professional judgment and strong interpersonal skills, particularly when managing sensitive or high-profile external communications.
- Ability to connect communications activities with broader business and organizational priorities.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-driven, resourceful and comfortable working independently, navigating ambiguity and proposing practical solutions.
- Interest in marketing communications, advertising, media, technology and broader business trends.
