This role is responsible for executing approved strategies with key influencers to enhance JTI's commercial advantage while managing risks. The incumbent will collaborate closely with external and internal stakeholders to deliver objectives efficiently in a fast-paced environment, ensuring all Corporate Affairs activities comply with JTI's Code of Conduct and Operating Guidelines.
As a Corporate Affairs Associate Manager, you will:
- Track political, legislative, and regulatory changes to identify potential risks and opportunities for the business. Share updates promptly with the Market Corporate Affairs Lead, Corporate Affairs & Communications Director, and, when needed, the General Manager and Excom members.
- Build strong knowledge of how laws and regulations are drafted, introduced, and debated. Use this understanding to support strategies that identify the right timing and channels for JTI to present its views or offer practical, responsible solutions.
- Keep an updated stakeholder map that highlights key political and regulatory figures. Use this tool to monitor and evaluate policy developments that may affect the business.
- Implement approved political and regulatory strategies, engaging with external stakeholders to ensure JTI's positions and solutions are communicated clearly and consistently. Align government relations programs with business goals, performance objectives, and JTI's Code of Conduct.
- Work closely with internal teams to provide Corporate Affairs support and help achieve both business and CA&C objectives.
- Manage various tasks and projects as they arise and upon manager's request.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree preferably in Legal Studies or Political Science; Master's degree is an advantage.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience, ideally within the FMCG sector and a multinational environment.
- Strong expertise in law and politics, with solid awareness of political processes and current events.
- Strong communication and public relations expertise
- Fluency in Traditional Chinese and English; proficiency in Taiwanese is an advantage.
