About the Team
The Japan Securities Settlements Operations team supports Tokyo-based trading and sales desks, ensuring seamless securities and cash exchanges. Though the business is Japan-focused, the team operates out of Singapore, offering a global perspective and collaborative culture.
The position involves ensuring timely transaction delivery, maintaining operational controls to mitigate operational risks.
- Daily functions include high volume and constant liaising with agent banks, brokers and counterparties throughout the Japan market hours via telephone and emails. Pre-matching and fail trade management abiding to strict market cut offs, report preparation and break resolution are also part of the scope.
As an Operations Analyst, you'll play a key role in ensuring smooth and timely securities transactions. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing high-volume trade settlements and ensuring timely delivery
- Liaising with agent banks, brokers, and counterparties during Japan market hours via phone and email
- Handling pre-matching, fail trade resolution, and strict market cut-off adherence
- Preparing reports and resolving trade breaks
- Maintaining robust operational controls to mitigate risk
What We're Looking For
- 1-2 years of experience in operations, preferably in finance or securities settlements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with sharp attention to detail
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
- Self-starter with a collaborative mindset and ownership of tasks
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- This is a 6 month renewable contract
Preferred Qualifications
- Fluent in Japanese (spoken and written) - highly preferred but not mandatory
- Exposure to equity products or prior experience in settlements
