The impact you'll make
As a Configuration Engineer, you will be a key contributor to Lam's ability to deliver complex, high-value systems to customers with precision and speed. Your work ensures that every order meets exact customer specifications, enabling Lam to maintain its reputation for quality and reliability in a fast-paced, high-tech industry. Your ability to combine technical rigor with strong judgment and collaboration will help Lam achieve operational excellence and sustained growth.
What You'll Do
- Demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, and strong communication skills while operating in HVM manufacturing environment.
- Support global configuration engineering community by participating in and supporting others within the role community.
- Configure unique Sales Order Bill of Material (OBOMs) from customer quotes and non-standard requests (NSRs), with a goal of zero defects.
- Review of incoming Order BOM changes to understand engineering and manufacturing needs.
- Adherence to Order BOM Change process and high-level of accuracy in implementation of those changes.
- Ensure timely implementation of unique non-standard customer specific requirements and engineering changes on OBOMs.
- Ability to hold yourself and peers accountable to high quality configurations using existing tools for self-review and peer-review.
- Participate and in cross functional teams to resolve issues throughout the lifecycle of an order.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience.
- Knowledge of semi-conductor industry, or similar high tech manufacturing industry.
- Experience in problem solving techniques and tools, including 8D and PSDMP.
- Previous work experience in a manufacturing / configuration environment for physical parts (not software).
- Proven ability to adapt to urgent issues and process changes.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. On-site Flex you'll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. Virtual Flex you'll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
