Designation: Staff Engineer – Core Machine Learning

Role Summary

Build and lead a lead a team of machine learning engineers focused on document reading, OCR,

structured and unstructured label understanding, and computer vision. This is not an individual

contributor role. You will work closely with engineering leadership in the US while leading technical

execution, hiring, and platform evolution from India.

Responsibilties:

• Own the client's document reading and label intelligence platform.

• Maintain the existing production stack while modernizing the platform architecture.

• Develop a holistic approach for structured and unstructured label understanding covering OCR,

barcode reading, layout understanding, and downstream information extraction.

• Drive and manage annotation strategy, annotation guidelines, quality processes, and external

annotation contractors.

• Lead development of machine learning models for inventory intelligence including object

detection, damage detection, geometric vision, document understanding, and related perception

models.

• Balance customer requirements, engineering constraints, latency, accuracy, and long-term

maintainability.

• Build reusable platform capabilities instead of customer-specific solutions.

Success at Six Months

• Build and lead a team of high-performing machine learning team.

• Own the clients solution accuracy program from the label reading and document understanding

perspective.

• Deliver a clear platform roadmap jointly with India and US engineering leadership.

• Modernize the existing document reading platform without impacting production stability.

• Deliver measurable improvements in model accuracy, latency, platform maintainability, and

engineering quality.
